Text & Image: Archive
After researching image and text I have found out that there are many combinations of text and image. Text can be used as an image such as graffiti and image helps making text visually attractive as shown in the tv screen and i believe typography is a mixture of them both.
95% of the ocean is unexplored. Collaboration with Salomi, Cameron and Hersi. Abstract painting for the Unexplained project.
Collaborating with Salomi, Cameron and Hersi worked really well for the Unexplained project because I chose to visually explain that 95% of the ocean is unexplored. Working with other people helped me keep open minded about what could be under the ocean. The reason why we added some of the words from a script (by Salomi Abdou) was to make it poetic; the abstract script suits the unexplored/unexplained mystery of what could be in the ocean.
Our initial idea was to cover 95% of the plastic sheet to show the amount of the ocean that is unexplored, leaving the 5% to be clear (explored). Hersi and Cameron enjoyed exploring what could be under the ocean.
Ideally, I would have liked to put it up against a wall with the text behind it so some of the words show through.

Return journey project: making art that I enjoy doing (relates to the happiness zine)
Not sure what to do with these still... I like the collage look and the mixture of type and image. It reminds me of the photos/videos I took of the Berlin wall.

I went to the House of Illustration at the beginning of May and I loved it because I discovered the work of Jo Brocklehurst! Her colourful, expressive punk style is so vibrant, her images are powerful and I love the detail of the hands and the colour tones on the detailed faces is amazing. Very striking images.
