It is with great honor that I launch the Dream Alchemist School & Dream Alchemist Apprenticeship - two opportunities for EVERYONE to tap into their inner dreamer and create a pathway for the world to come. The Dream Alchemist School will meet every New Moon to receive the energy transmission that this sacred month contains utilizing Jewish astrology, the Kabbalah, and Jewish mysticism and every Full Moon to put this theory to practice and do the inner work we need to move our Dreams to Reality. We’re in a particular window of time starting yesterday that sets these next three days apart from the others. In Jewish tradition, 3 is significant for the number of days in which we must descend in order to ascend, with the rebirth being complete on the third day. This sacred time, mixed with the Rosh Chodesh of Nisan, Spring Equinox, and Masechet Rosh Hashanah, means we have a super-charged week ahead. I consider this special window of time as the portal for moving dreams to reality. Winter is heavily associated with the dream state for me. It’s a very inward journey and very focused on planning (dreaming) for the future. I’ve had the pleasure of spending all winter dreaming of my garden, my offerings, and community once the thaw begins. This is the time to manifest your dreams into a reality, to set your intention and make it happen, to reach out to your allies and your comrades to build coalitions and create the new earth. I used to hate the word “manifestation” 😅 So often I saw it tossed out at people who were struggling against poverty, hunger, and oppression as a kind of “boot-strap” narrative. My relationship to manifestation changed when I realized the key was doing it in COMMUNITY not going at it alone. We focus a lot on the inner work that needs to be done in order to manifest - and it’s true, we often have shadows that get in our way from achieving our dreams. But manifesting isn’t you just going at it alone, doing everything yourself, and feeling shamed if it doesn’t work out (in your timeline). We’re in relationship with one another and the divine - a sacred community, not just an individual and a deity. It’s time our manifestation intentions and energy matched that frequency! When I saw this quote it brought me to tears. When you start a small business, whether it be a family farm, your own art studio, a small batch apothecary, or hair studio, it feels like the biggest leap of your life. So many people see starting a business and say… well the pay is unsteady, the benefits can be shitty, the hours might be worse… it just feels like such a massive leap into the unknown. But when you’ve tasted the crystalline core of the Earth, brought vibrancy to your community, and lived the power of changing the world? There’s simply no going back to the way things were before. I’ve got sisters all over the world who have started small business recently. They’re healers, dancers, therapists, herbalists, and community leaders. Each one of them had a dream and visioned a different world. A world of healing, community, and sovereignty. Your dream can be a reality. You’re so connected to so many other dreamers, all wishing for change in the back of their hearts and minds. Be loud about it. If you want something, speak it. A year ago I was getting rejected from 22 PhD programs. I had invested tons of time and money and resource into those applications - absolutely sure it was my destiny and my pathway forward to bring about liberation in my community. I thought I needed a PhD to start Esperanza’s Acres. I thought I needed to know more about… everything… in order to hold space effectively and be a leader in my community. But the truth was, in this paradigm I would have gotten my PhD and STILL felt inadequate. It was never about being “qualified” by some external source - it was about believing in my dream and myself enough to bring it into reality. This past weekend I lived the dream… with six other women who were also living their dreams as a reality. It was an honor to co-priestess the very first Rhythmic Renewal Retreat at Wild Rose Sanctuary this weekend where I led a workshop on Jewish Astrology and a Continuum Movement session. So incredibly juicy, connected, and VIBRANT. This is the way we’re meant to be - dreaming BIGGER and living BRIGHTER. You don’t need to wait for the degree, the time, even the money. There are always reasons not to pursue your dreams. “I just don’t have the qualifications to apply for that job” “I just don’t have enough time to forage or hike” “I don’t have enough money to invest in myself” The blockages we face when dreaming are REAL 😅 The scarcity is created with the intention to stop you from dreaming - making it as difficult as possible to see the reality of your dreams, instead making things seem more and more nightmarish. “Why dreams?” A lot of people who know my shtick know about the farming and the herbalism and the Jewishness. By now y’all have probably caught on to our social missions of sovereignty and peace. Of building our communities and creating space for expression. …But the dream work is new to them. At the foundation of each of these is a dream. A vision of what the world could be, should be, will be. How many programmers are actually painters? Students who are songwriters? Financial analysts who are freedom fighters? What changes when we give space for dreams to grow and blossom - to turn into a luscious reality of expansion and joy? Don’t get us wrong - we’re not here to bypass the very real oppressions people face each and every day. Rather, we’re building bridges and pathways and interconnectedness to lead us towards a different way. That all begins with a dream. How you turn it into reality? That’s up to you. The month of Adar is known for increasing our joy. There can be so much wrapped up in the politics of pleasure. The guilt, the shame, the lack of time. Whatever the reason, we’ve created a system to strip away our dreams and forget how to play. But, sibling, I know there’s a different way. It can be extremely terrifying to think about all the ways in which accessing the dream world would radically change your life. You may remember the wildness and vibrancy of your childhood and ache for something you feel is no longer accessible. You may remember the shadows of your childhood and you fear retreating to a place without agency. Regardless of how you played, you can lear to play again. We’re excited to be launching our new DreamWorkShop series to help you do just this. Two workshops on Zoom to dive deeper and deeper into the realm of dreaming and full of all the info you need to get started… with a special surprise at the end of each. Growing in Love

As we bask in last week's celebration of the Tree spirits around us, this week we're getting into a new rhythm - spring.

For February in Wisconsin, this may seem like a premature celebration - we've still got snow on the ground and the temperatures are still closer to freezing than swimwear weather. In Jewish mystical tradition, this is the time of year when G!d adds coals to the winds to warm up the earth again after a cold winter. When the second coal is added, the sap from the trees once again begins to flow with its spring-time vigor.

It's not an accident that this is also seed-starting season, the time when many gardeners will begin sowing seeds indoors and begin thinking about garden planning. It's all divine timing.

And so it is, and so we do too. This will be our first post-Shmita year on the land and we are so excited to move even deeper into our relationship with this land.

It's easy to get caught in the excitement of what's next and rush to the next phase - when should I annoucne this offering? This product? Maybe I should do it now... Can I plant my seedlings in the ground yet? Often this excitement makes us catapault ourselves from winter straight into summer, without taking a second to linger in the sacred thaw that is spring. This can mainfest as feeling incredibly overwhelmed by all that's going on in the summer, feeling exhausted at the end of a summer day, feeling disappointed that its not summer already, and feeling resentful of the linger snow and winter cold.

What would it look like to linger this spring? To really feel the slowness with which the sap rises from the roots and moves into the trees? To emerge slowly from hibernation over time? To be conscious of each summer project and event and meeting that we take on? This is our challenge this season, to move slowly and emerge anew... without the hustle that makes itself known in the heat of summer.

Can you hold this ease? This slowness? What lurks in the lingering of your inner winter? 

Sometimes people feel overwhelmed or depressed at this time because the last of the inner workings that manifest in the winter are shaking themselves out before spring. It can feel like all the shadows we haven't spent enough time considering are now in our face directly. It can be a lot. Try not to rush past your spring, the slow emergence, and instead greet these shadows as teachers. What needs to be brought into the summer sun and what needs to be composted with the detritus of winter?
