Stanczyk - Jan Matejko
the memories are fading and so am i
in the chaos of it all
the world taught me to fight
for what I wanted
when i had already lost it,
when it was already gone;
and, in the same vein,
it tried to show me
when to let go
when I was desperately clinging
on to something that wasn't mine:
teeth clenched like a wolf under the moon.
and I'm still learning,
still making every damn mistake there is
Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib, from “And What Good Will Your Vanity Be When The Rapture Comes”
i bloom in sacrifice:
let every
charm confess
and scatter
you were in my dreams again last night
you with that face and your lips--
and I cannot write
anymore, it's all trivial:
my attempts to caress
and undress the mystery of us,
lost to time--turned physical dust.
how to address a therapist in an hour session
and reduce it all to a simple story
of another boy obsessed?
how to convey what can only be known
by the experiential?
And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:
What is all this sweet work worth
If thou kiss not me?
'i need somebody and always' tom
vs
'i need someone to love me the whole day through' neil
