Spite-fueled sketch because I was dissatisfied with the previous one.

Kind of a warm-up sketch

Some simpler alts (?) I picked up during the process. They're more the style I'm hoping to stick too when I'm not punching above my weight class.

It was supposed to be a simple warmup sketch, but then the previous one happened, so I thought, heh, might as well. Let's see if I can stay consistent with my artstyle for once.

I probably spent an extra hour or two on this one, just to make sure the colour balance was as close as possible. But despite everything I still see stylistic differences. Is it just me?

This is how it ended up before I made sure the colours matched to a T. Shades were a bit darker and redder, and her face more covered in the shadows. Somehow it feels like a completely different vibe; less casual, and more sensual? See, this is why I struggle so much with colours sometimes. Again, is this actually perceptible or is it just me ?

Personally I prefer the more casual one. It's closer to what I had in mind, and the warmer ones feels a little "too much". I can't deny it has something going on for itself, just not what I was going for. Maybe it's because of the colour balance as a whole, maybe it's just the blush on her face that was too pronounced; I toned that down so hard, and multiple times. Maybe I simply don't like how it looks when I make characters blush. Maybe it's just this particular character that doesn't fit the vibe. Coming up with acceptable smut of your own OCs is so hard; I can't even make a throwaway character without getting attached, I still end up having to work around the same mental barriers as with any other.

This was intended to be a simple warmup sketch, but I once again failed at that task and instead produced one of the best fucking renders of my life.

This was still done in large part with the watercolour brush, but this time I also used opaque brushes for darker spots, so it ended up looking a lot less watered down and a lot softer than usual !

In earlier pieces with this brush, I coloured the lineart based on lighting. Here I planned to swap the colours around: redder in shadows and bluer in the light, but after I got way past the "coloured sketch" stage, I repainted the lit up lines in plain white for extra bloom.

Here's what it looks like when she doesn't deal 1d4 Radiant damages to every creature within a 5ft radius. Not a big change but I still really like the coloration, and can't make a creative decisions to save my life:

Decided to go back and colour it. I have no idea what colour I want for the armour though. I just went with whatever felt right on the moment.

This one had me feel like I forgot colour theory. What do I pick? Just mix the whole rainbow together until things looks nice. The background wall? Teal, blue, pink, orange and yellow. Her skin? Teal, blue, pink, orange and yellow. Her shirt? Teal, blue, pink, orange, and yellow. What kind of black magic is this.

Parallel Banding

The unshaded version hits a particular vibe that the shaded quite doesn't. Sometimes less is more.

Solar Eyes

I usually go for diamond-shaped eyes for her, but wanted to try this. Problem: how do I use eyeliner to prolongate the outer corner of an eye that doesn't have a perceptible outer corner ?

It started out as just a floating pair of eyes, I didn't plan to have a complete skin texture. I should probably crop out the sides so it doesn't look like a UV mapping, but whatever
