Following on from my last post about Bento boxes, I wanted to tell you about these little cuties! These boxes are a special Kyoto range based on Japanese wooden kokeshi dolls and are produced by famous Bento box makers Hakoya.

They are quite compact but perfect for smaller portions or as a side-treat alongside a main lunch. The best part about them though? Other than having two microwavable sections, the ‘hat’ part is a little bowl for miso soup! I LOVE miso soup, especially nearing the end of the day at work.

So it went without saying, I purchased one! The little samurai in fact (you can get others such as geisha, sumo etc.) As the description said, 'justice, honour… and a pretty good lunch! This little guy will defend the fresh crispyness of your lunch to the end.'

It’s not in his code to let anyone else steal my lunch. :D
