mia: oh he's horrible. he was like "I want custody" I told him he could visit him, but he refused.

mia: thanks! he should be arriving soon and I will have to be careful that it doesn't get stolen.

stefanie: did you get the pup together? what's his name?

stefanie: the puppy, not the ex. maybe you guys can compromise and settle for joint custody.

stefanie: oh you know, dated me for my title, privileges, bragging rights, whatever. he should consider pursuing acting as a career tbh.

❝ what are the chances… ❞ helena whispered to herself. like the other, she’s been to the cutest bakery not so long ago. she wondered if they were from the same store. 

helena looked up from her cupcake to find a smudge of frosting on top of the girl’s nose. ❝ you got a little something on there. ❞ the princess pointed to her own nose. ❝ ah, you know what? let me. ❞ the spaniard took a step closer, swiping the frosting clean of her nose with her thumb and licked it off clean, giving her a small smile before delving back into her own cupcake. ❝ if you ever need a gym buddy, i’m always up for it. ❞ she suggested.

she’s a little taken aback when the other girl comes so close all of a sudden, but she blinks and there’s a respectable distance between them once more, although the sight of the girl licking frosting – that had been on her nose! – off her finger causes her eyebrows to raise slightly. she doesn’t comment on the strangely intimate gesture though, seeing as the girl didn’t seem to think too much of it and stefanie herself is a rather tactile person. she does thank her though, before considering the offer. ❝ oh, i’d love that. i understand the importance of keeping fit, but let’s just say i’m most productive at the gym when someone is yelling at me. besides, i’d love to know how to get arms like yours. ❞

stefanie: my ex and i kind of still have some mutual friends, which is awkward, but at least i'm in andorra now. no awkward encounters anymore.

“i’ll try to work it into our next conversation more subtly,” he promised, beaming. it was strange, but david felt very at ease around stefanie. maybe it was her confidence rubbing off on david. she was so sure of herself, so david couldn’t help but be sure of her as well. david ate his cupcake as carefully as possible, but he could feel frosting smudge on his upper lip as he scarfed it down. “i think that can be arranged,” he agreed, though the thought of leaving eric alone for too long made him nervous. he was so protective of the prince after everything he’d been through. but eric was also incredibly self sufficient, so he could spare an hour for the princess. he followed after her, his cheeks reddening as their hands stayed linked.

she doesn’t need to keep ahold of his hand, but she wants to, and stefanie has never shied away from going after what she wants, so she definitely isn’t going to be the one to pull away first. she doesn’t let go of his hand even when they arrive at their first destination, although she keeps her grip loose just in case he decides he wants his hand back. ❝ hi maria, ❞ she greets as she leads him to a matronly woman. ❝ it’s a nice day out for a picnic –– think you could pack us a little something to eat? preferably something that doesn’t take too long to prepare; we have a hungry young man here. ❞ maria eyes the two of them teasingly before telling them to head to the gardens first and that the food will be brought to them when it’s ready. stefanie thanks maria before turning her attention back to him. ❝ come on then, ❞ she says, squeezing his hand once lightly. ❝ to the gardens we go, and you can pick the spot. ❞

“Once and done and now we can move on” Eric nodded in agreement before laughing slightly “Fine then, forget what I said, I take all the credit that we’re able to still talk right now. I’ll try to repeat my chivalrous actions next time you need it. Though if it’s a book I guess you can fend for yourself” He shrugged holding up the book and shaking his head at it “Maybe so. I guess we’ll see what happens.Fingers crossed Taito doesn’t kill you. While I’m the very first person who should care about Australian history, I’ll admit it’s just as boring as most history lessons” Eric looked down to the ground, thinking about the various places he had crawled into to read “Not really climbing, more like i just want to find some place quiet, where I won’t be disturbed. I guess climbing and risking your life just becomes a necessary evil, and then you start to enjoy it too much” 

laughing a little, she swats at the book he’s holding up. ❝ get that away from me, ❞ she jokes, ❝ if i told my parents i’m traumatised after nearly being killed by a book, i might be able to get out of boring history lessons? ❞ stefanie’s trying to be a good future ruler – her desire to come to cresstlea is surely proof of that – but she’s a party girl at heart, and while she’s grown a healthy appreciation for policy making, other aspects of her royal education still manage to bore her. his response is lighthearted, but stefanie suddenly wonders if she’s intruding on his alone time. as social as she is, she has days where she’d rather be left alone too, so she gets where he’s coming from. ❝ am i disturbing you right now? it’s been lovely talking to you, but i can go if you’d rather be alone? ❞

I quit doing runway shows because I ended up just buying the whole line” Otto laughed softly before his face fell as he matched her dramatics. He placed his free hand over his heart as his head shook “It is a trying thing to resist falling in love wit a piece, so why don’t I keep tis one for now, for your own safety. We can go take a peak at my closet? Maybe take a nice look at that bomber, and hope you can control those emotions?” Otto’s head gestured down the hall as he turned taking another bite of his sweet “We might want to hurry before I change my mind or to be exact come to my senses about letting someone in my closet”

❝ ugh, relatable. ❞ she groans, accompanied by a deliberate roll of her eyes. ❝ the part about anything that you try on basically already purchased, i mean. i haven’t done any runway shows, that’s pretty cool. who did you walk for? ❞ stefanie has always thought that there was something childish and unbecoming with giggles, but the sound that escapes her lips at his own theatrics can only be described as her giggling. she clears her throat immediately afterwards though, schooling her face into a more serious expression and standing up straight as she holds her right hand up. ❝ i solemnly swear i won’t steal any of your clothes–– without permission. can we go now? ❞ there’s a slight whine to her tone, and she levels him with her most charming grin before starting to pull him out of the room.

A sneaking hand went to go and snatch any loose cupcakes. Deeply decorated fingernails reaching out to take one from the box. Though whenever it would be taken from the box or not, the woman besides the princess would not in thanks. Simply uttering a thanks in return to her, though attempting to repeat herself in a sentence moreso ‘said’ then 'whispered’: “ Thank you, my lady. I wouldn’t think I would taste such a delight from a woman of such high standing. ” Finishing her sentence with a sing-song tone to it. As light as the smile given as she said it.

growing up royal meant that stefanie was accustomed to being regarded with some degree of formality. however, the other girl’s words somehow don’t quite sit right with her, her words not quite matching her tone. despite the slight discomfort creeping in, stefanie returns the smile. ❝ you give me too much credit i think, ❞ she says, waving off the compliment as politely as she can, ❝ i got these from a quaint little bakery in town on the way here, so. ❞

“in that case, your hair looks lovely today. did you do something new to it?” he joked. his eyes wandered to the now-opened box, taking in the immaculate cupcakes inside. there were too many options, he didn’t know where to start. was he in the mood for a rich red velvet, or maybe the carrot cake was more appetizing? “how can i choose?” he retorted. finally he settled on one that appeared to be mint chocolate, judging by the dark fudge cake topped with a light green frosting. he took a careful bite, making sure to catch the crumbs in his waiting hand, and moaned. “these are so good,” he complimented. “dessert after dessert?”

❝ you could at least try to make your blatant flattery sound natural, ❞ she chastises, but she’s also laughing, knowing that the guard was only teasing. she waits for him to choose a cupcake, beaming when he compliments them, although the slight confusion that mars his handsome features makes her laugh again. closing the lid of the box, she decides to keep him in the dark for a little while more, simply telling him, ❝ i’m stealing you from your duties for a while. ❞ normally, she wouldn’t try to distract someone from their duties, understanding responsibility rather well herself, but she rationalises that a tired and hungry guard is of no use to anyone. reaching out to take his hand, stefanie pulls him out of the room and towards the kitchen –– a woman on a mission.
