Foster The People III - 2017Â
@tnaujoks some late night shenanigans with @mistersmims
Foster the People belong in the smaller percentage of musical acts and artists that not only make beautiful music artistically, but also match the sonically pleasing ratio between sound recording and live performance equivalently, in my opinion. From the opening seconds to the last, particularly in this âBest Friendâ performance on Letterman, they take you on a roller coaster sound ride of emotions stemmed from the concept of this amazing record brought to life with beautiful vocal and instrumental composition. You can see the fire in every band memberâs eyes as they can feel the flame of displaying what they created in the studio unravel and get bigger as the song progresses. I myself am a creative, and in my opinion thereâs no purer joy in displaying what you made from scratch being based off the thoughts in your mind as the world is watching, and their passion clearly shows that in this performance. Mark Foster steers the ship gracefully as an amazing lead-man with his unique diction, body movement and one-of-a-kind voice captivate and serve as the emotional catalyst. Last but not least, the children serving as back-up were more than just accessoriesâ-they may have been positioned in the back but their presence were the cherry on top of putting the essence of the song even more in front of your face, literally and figuratively. Foster the People reminds me of a group of lone rangersâ-each band member individually has that aura of âthat one kid in high-school who mostly kept to himself, no one really knew him that well but everyone respected himââ-so when put together, their individual energy combines and forms a cohesive unit where uniqueness is magnified. Like, dislike, hate or love âem, Foster the People are one of the acts in the industry of music that belong in the percentage of artists that arenât different because their great, their great because their different. ï»ż
