He looked into her brown eyes and gave her a sincere smile. He didn’t want her to be nervous or worry so much about him. He chuckled at her words as his hands grazed her thighs. “Hey, I try sometimes,” he smiled before leaning in and kissing her back. “And you will get forever.” He mumbled as his hands slowly moved up her leg.

She pulled away to kiss across his jawline and up to his ear. “Let’s go inside,” was whispered between kisses. As nice as it would be to stay out looking at the stars, she’d become too distracted for it. She wanted him to herself with some more privacy. He was barely given a chance to answer before she was kissing his lips once more and pressing herself closer to him.

Leo furrowed his eyebrows at her answer when he pulled away. It pained him when she started talking about losing him. He never wanted that to happen, even with her. Tilting his head, he put a hand on her cheek stroking it with the pad of his thumb. “Baby, you’re never going to lose me. We can be happy and in the moment. It could never get taken away and I promise that I will never leave you and you will never lose me.” Leo sighed before leaning forward and placing a kiss on her forehead. “You’re stuck with me for a long time,” he joked hoping that would ease her mind a little.

Estelle tilted her head into his touch and slowly opened her eyes to meet his. Even with all her worries and nerves, he gave her a sense of peace. She wanted more than anything to believe him, that they would have forever together. “I don’t usually like sentimentality, but it’s a good look for you,” she mused. Fingers were tangled in his hair and she leaned forward to kiss him again. “I really want forever,” she mumbled against his lips.

When she pulled away, he looked down at her with a small smirk on his face ready to say something to tease her. As her finger touched his lips, he raised his eyebrows before watching her. He couldn’t help but let out a laugh noticing how nervous she was. “Yes you did,” he smiled as he leaned forward and kissed her slowly. One of his hands rested on her thigh as he pulled her closer to him. “Why are you so nervous though?” he asked pulling away slightly before trailing kisses all over her neck.

Leo continued to be her exception. She wasn’t pulling away when things got emotional. She was leaning into him, kissing him back. There was a soft sigh when he pulled away and she actually thought over his question instead of disregarding it. She felt a need to talk things through with him. Her eyes fell shut as she enjoyed the kisses trailed over her neck. “I know it’s going to hurt worse when I lose you,” she finally answered, “I’m nervous about how long we’re allowed to be this happy before it’s taken away.”

Hearing the hum escape her lips, he smiled against her skin as he kissed her more. When she moved and looked at him with big eyes, he thought he had said something wrong. “I said we could do this with our kids?” he questioned before a smile spread on his lips when she said that she had imagined that. As she kissed him, he let out a sigh before he smiled wide at what she said. Once she buried her head in the crook of his neck, he laughed as he started kissing her cheeks. “What was that?! Did you just say what I think you said?” he asked through his laughter as he held her.

“Maybe,” she mumbled. She slowly pulled away to nervously look up at him. A deep blush was burning her cheeks and she knew if she tried to speak she would only manage to stumble through half sentences. Her left index finger was pressed to his lips to quiet him as she reached over for her glass of wine. It wasn’t about the alcohol. It was about giving herself a task to clear her mind. The glass was emptied, sat back down, and a deep breath was taken. “I said I love you.” It was easier to say the second time, and she made sure to state it clearly. She wasn’t worried about his reaction. It was actually more for herself.

“Stars are amazing, I just haven’t really looked at them. I’ve never done that so I guess now it’s the first time and I’m glad it’s with you,” he smirked as he peppered her neck with kisses. Leo never did anything like that and it wasn’t really in his family to do something special together. Pulling away, he looked into her eyes noticing the cheeky grin on her face. “And I’m very happy that I get to be stuck with you forever. Not to freak you out too much, but it would be cool to make this a family thing. Bring our kids out here…or well wherever we end up living. There’s something calming about it,” he murmured looking up at the sky, “and beautiful,” his eyes trailed back down to Estelle referencing more towards her than the stars. “I love you,” he said looking into her eyes not caring if she didn’t say it back.

Another sip of wine was taken before the glass was placed beside his on the ground. His kisses drew a pleasured hum from her lips. It was nice sharing the experience with him. She often forgot he grew up with a much different family dynamic than her own. It was hard for her to believe with how wonderful he turned out. Her eyes widened as he spoke and she moved around to face him. “What did you say?” It was pure shock and joy. She didn’t expect him to voice the same fantasy she’d held close to her heart for nearly all her life. “I’ve always imagined that.” It had to be something akin to fate that they found their way to each other. There was a pause of her gazing into his eyes with a bright smile. She wrapped her arms around him and leaned forward to kiss him deeply. It was in a breath and barely audible that she was able to finally repeat the sentiment. “I love you.” She buried her head in the crook of his neck and tried her best not to think of the commitment she’d just made.

“Are you now?” he smirked. As she also made a toast and clinked her glass with his, he smiled. “Deciding our own future,” that was something Leo wanted for a long time. He hated being cooped up in this lifestyle and would love to break away and do something with his life. He sipped some wine before giving her a look when she tugged his arm. Following her finger, he looked up at the stars and made a face. “How do you know that? I didn’t know you were into this kind of stuff.” Leo smiled as he set his glass down and pulled her into his lap as he looked up at the stars. “So does your star sign being close mean that we’re going to work out?” His hands wrapped around her middle letting his thumbs graze her stomach.

“This kind of stuff? Who doesn’t like stars? Did you not learn about constellations and go stargazing?” Late nights wrapped in blankets and naming the stars were cherished memories of times spent with her mother. She’d always imagined doing the same with children of her own one day. It was easier to picture now with Leo. Her head rested on his chest and she shifted ever so slight to makes herself comfortable in his lap. “It means the Leo and Virgo constellations are close together.” She looked up at him through her lashes and a cheeky grin turned up the corners of her lips. “And maybe it also means you’re stuck with me forever.”

Leo smirked when she said she felt the same. Being close to her felt right and gave him these butterflies in his stomach that he hadn’t felt before with anyone else. When she pulled away, he looked at her and smiled as one of his hands grazed her cheek. “Maybe I don’t want to make it to the toast,” he smirked leaning into her hand before leaning forward and pressing a kiss on her cheek to tease her. Pulling away he grabbed the bottle of wine and poured them two glasses. Handing her one, he held it up and smiled, “To…us,” he chuckled not really knowing what else to say.

“I’m all for you being bold,” Estelle egged him on. He wouldn’t find any resistance from her. Wine under the stars would be nice, but skipping it wouldn’t upset her greatly. He’d been somewhat reserved with her so far and she wanted to push him to take charge and not hold anything back. She held back a sigh when he pulled away and took the offered glass.“To deciding our own future,” Estelle added before clinking her glass against his and taking a sip. She wondered if he selected the wine, or had someone else choose it. Either way it was a good selection. Looking up at the stars it took her a moment, but she finally found what she was looking for and gentle tugged on his arm for attention. “There,” she said, pointing up at the night sky, “Your constellation. My star sign is fairly close actually.”

“Didn’t think you would,” he smirked looking down at her, “Yes, definitely only sober sex tonight,” he gave her a wink as he leaned over and kissed her cheek. Being with Estelle made him feel like his life was complete and that he was loved. Leo chuckled when she repeated him and tickled her sides. When she started talking, he gave her a look and laughed again. “I mean I think I’m a very good influence on you. It’s better than you going out and yelling at diplomats. All I know is that you make me happy and that I love you more than I ever thought was possible.” Leo couldn’t help but lean down and kiss Estelle’s lips softly letting his hands wrap around her waist.

“I really,” Estelle started, but she couldn’t get the words out, “I feel the same.” She leaned into him and kissed him back. Limits and rules were typical for Estelle, but there weren’t any with Leo. There was no needing to keep distance. There was never a feeling of needing space. If anything she wanted to spend more time with him and be closer. It was with hesitation that she pulled away. The emotion that she was so used to hiding were clearly written on her face because of him. She couldn’t say it, but she was in love. “I have a feeling that if you don’t get the wine now we’ll never make it to that toast because you are very distracting to me,” she said softly, resting a hand on his cheek.

Leo smiled when she said she was happy. That’s all he wanted was for her to be happy. “All my fault? What, do I just suddenly make you cry?” His eyes followed hers and he looked at the ring with a smile on his face. “I thought it would be.” Eyes following hers, he couldn’t help but get entranced in her chocolate brown eyes. He chuckled when she wiped the tears off his face and shook his head. “I guess so. You’re just too perfect,” he leaned forward and kissed her cheek before shutting his eyes. Taking one of her hands in his own, he started swaying a little to the nonexistent music. Leo couldn’t help it, the moment was just too perfect. “I got us some wine if we wanted to stay out here for a little while. I promise no drunken Leo tonight and no drunken sex.” Leo chuckled as he pulled away to look her in the eyes. “It’s only right we toast to tonight.”

“A bottle of wine under the stars with you. I don’t think I could ever turn that down. So only sober sex tonight then.” She found herself stealing glances at the ring. It was almost as a reminder that this was real because she never imagined this being her life. “It’s only right,” she repeated in agreement. This was a night she wanted to remember every detail. Wrapping one arm around his waist, she reached up to place her hand on his neck and pull him down to kiss. It wasn’t fair she always had to stand on tip toes. “I think everything is your fault,” Estelle circled back to their earlier conversation, “You’ve got me crying, and wanting to think about the future, and comfortable being lazy all day. I don’t know what kind of influence you are so it’s a good thing I like you so damn much.”

Leo didn’t care if he looked like a fool, but he didn’t want her to think of this whole thing as a business deal. He wanted to show her that they were going to get married for the right reasons. As he looked at her, he noticed the tears in her eyes and felt himself choking up as well. At her reply, he chuckled before slipping the ring onto her finger. Before he could say anything, he was pulled into a kiss. He kissed her back and stood up as his arms went around her waist. He lifted her off the ground a little and laughed before setting her back onto the ground and pulling away from the kiss. “Why are you crying?” he chuckled even though he knew his eyes were sparkling with tears.

Estelle found herself laughing along with him as he picked her up. “I’m happy and it’s all your fault. I never cried when I was happy before. I didn’t know I could be so happy that I cried. It’s all your fault.” Her eyes lingered on him for a moment before dropping to look at the ring. It had always felt real before, but there was a permanence to the relationship now. There was something about having a physical reminder that grounded everything. It helped ease the nerves that he might change his mind. “It’s perfect,” she said softly. Her eyes locked with his once more and now that her tears had slowed she could notice she wasn’t alone in crying. She reached up to gently wipe away his tears. “Apparently it’s contagious.”

“I am the more romantic one, aren’t I?” he chuckled. He didn’t know why he was nervous, they had talked about all of this and it wouldn’t change anything because they had to get married. At her words, he let out a sigh and shook his head. “Oh um no… no. Don’t take this as a joke, missy.” He stuck his tongue out at her before giving her a sincere smile. “Stelle, I know this is cheesy and nothing is going to change because we have to get married, but I never wanted that. I wanted something special and if I’m being honest, I don’t know if I would do this with another girl. Um…. I also don’t know why I’m nervous,” he laughed, “You’ve been my friend for a long time and someone I can trust. I might be kidding myself if I said I never had a crush on you because I did. Now I can’t think of a life without you. This doesn’t normally happen with people at the Summit so maybe we’re special. I love you, Stelle and not as a friend. I love you. I know you don’t know how to say it back, but I see it in your eyes and in every interaction we have. I wanted to get you a special ring,” he said as he finally took the ring out of his pocket. Bending down on one knee, he showed her the ring. The one she had described; it was crazy how his grandmother had something to what she had described. “This belonged to my grandmother. She was always the one that got me when I was a kid and I could count on her for anything. It was only right that I give it to you because you get me and I would do anything for you,” he smiled as he opened the box revealing the ring. “Estelle, will you marry me?” Leo asked through a chuckle as he looked up at her.

It was a bit cheesy, but in the right way. She had to stop herself from interrupting him. She wanted to let him finish and hear everything he had to say. At some point tears welled up in her eyes. It seemed she was crying more than usual from joy. She’d never had that experience before being with him. It was a new layer of intensity to the emotion she never knew existed. She couldn’t even try to stop as she was already crying before she realized. How had she got so lucky? He was perfect for her and that ring took her breath away. It was simple and unique and the fact that his grandmother had just so happened to have the ring she never knew she wanted only made it more special. She’d call it fate if she could let herself believe that. “Yes. They could cancel the summit tomorrow and I’d still want to be with you, Leo.” I love you was on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn’t form the words. Instead, she leaned down to kiss him passionately.

Leo had been planning this for a while now. He had managed to get away for a day and get the perfect ring for Estelle. It was one that his grandmother wore; even with his crazy strict family, he always felt a strong connection to her. She always took him under her wing and was pretty much the influence to do whatever he wanted. It was only right that Estelle got her ring because she too was just as important. Was this a little silly seeing as they were technically already engaged, yes, but Leo wanted them to do it correctly. He was a sucker that way. He fiddled with the ring in his pocket as he waited for Estelle to arrive trying not to look so nervous. Upon hearing her familiar voice, Leo smiled as he looked at her. “A little bit yeah,” he smiled shaking his head before kissing her back. “I was hoping you would say that. And I see you got my note,” he smiled making a face at her as he took her hands in his own. Leo just stared at her trying to find the words to speak, but for some reason he couldn’t. He was starting to second guess himself that maybe this wasn’t the best idea. “I’m hurt you aren’t so surprised,” he chuckled as it was the only thing that came out.

“I am surprised. I didn’t wake up today expecting this, but it doesn’t surprise me that you would do something like this. Haven’t we already established you’re the romantic one?” Estelle gave his hands a gentle squeeze and smiled warmly up at him. There was no need for nerves to get the better of him. She wasn’t going anywhere. Sure, she didn’t need a proposal, but she found it so sweet that he wanted to propose. It had her heart racing that he felt that way. She was still trying to understand how he affected her. It was everything from how he looked at her to how he treated her. He made her feel for the first time (family aside) that she was loved for who she was, but he still inspired her to keep trying to be better. There were no pretenses with him. She hoped he found that same sense of peace with her. “Are we going to stand her all night,” she gently prompted him.

A day out with friends was just what Estelle needed. The lack of travel had been starting to get to her. She was about to collapse on her bed when she noticed the note. Recognition of the handwriting brought a smile to her lips and she read through it twice to make sure she read it correctly. He had to be up to something. A text or a call would have been sufficient. A note was extra in the sweetest way. She was thankful she had arrived back early enough. She would have felt terrible if she had been out late and unintentionally left him waiting for her. A few minutes were taken to switch her jeans and tee out for a romper and touch up her hair and makeup before she headed out to the gardens to meet Leo. Her face lit up as the garden came into view. He’d mentioned wanting to propose to her and this was the set up if there ever was one. Additional flowers decorated the space and candles provided the ideal romantic lighting. Not to mention how handsome he looked. “Been busy today,” Estelle lightly teased, reaching up to kiss him in greeting, “It looks lovely.” @princeleohl

Making a face when she touched him, he laughed. He loved when she was being all cute like this. There was always something different in her eyes when she acted like this. “Oh really? What details?” he smirked before pulling her into a kiss. He needed to make sure his mind was clear and that nothing would happen. He pouted a little when she said there was no one to beat up. Granted he was joking, but in all seriousness he would make sure that no one hurt her. When she started talking about the kind of ring she wanted, he smiled as his mind went to a certain ring he remembered seeing and knowing it was perfect. “That’s sweet, but I want it to be special. I know, I’m cheesy.” He laid there and just stared at her with a smile before feeling his eyes starting to get heavy.

Estelle gave him a cheeky grin, a teasing glint in her eyes. It was better to let his imagination fill in the details. She happily kissed him back before settling into his side. There was dull ache in her head from the lingering hangover that she was trying to ignore by focusing on Leo. A nap would probably be best, but she wasn’t ready to fall asleep. She didn’t want to lose the moment. Part of her still worried she would wake up alone. It would be understandable. “I know. I appreciate that. It means the world that you care so much,” she said softly. She let her eyes fall shut as she relaxed.

Sober Leo didn’t need her to tell him how she felt. He knew and understood she needed time to form it into words. He was just a little more outspoken when feelings hit. “Trust me, you show it enough.” He watched her fingers trace patterns and smiled looking over at her. “You don’t have to worry about me. I’m strong,” he gave her a wink as he settled into the bed a little. “Me? Distracting? Princess, that is highly inappropriate.” Leo joked chuckling a little. “Come on there has to be something. Do I need to beat up any exes that I don’t know about? I also want to know what kind of ring you want?” he asked off the cuff knowing he should probably get ahold of his parents so they could give him access to his grandmothers jewelry.

“I know you are.” She reached up to give his bicep a gentle squeeze and tossed him a cheeky smile. He was in decent shape which she very much appreciated. She liked someone who could keep up with her. She knew he didn’t completely mean it that way as mental strength was more important in dealing with night terrors. “That doesn’t even come close to inappropriate, but I could give you details to make that true.” She was doing her best to live in the moment so that meant her currents thoughts were about him. “No one to beat up,” Estelle laughed. She was on good terms with everyone, or rather she wasn’t on that level of bad terms with anyone. A ring was something she hadn’t thought much about. “I think something unique and simple maybe. I’m not sure. I’m going to be happy with anything you select. It’s about you more than the ring for me.”
