I am a mother to two boys. I began wrapping my older boy when he was almost one and have wrapped his brother from birth.

We are now squarely in “toddler wrapping” territory as my youngest is 20 months and 23 lbs.

I am amazed by the variety of wrapping qualities in woven wraps. I am a scientist and engineer and have had fun building a compendium of wrapping qualities as a tool to help myself and others analyze how combinations of properties contribute to the overall qualities of wraps.

I find that many combinations of wrapping qualities make great wraps, but I gravitate to wraps that are not too thick and have some stretch with recoil.

I have favorites in several different regions of the self organized mapping of wrapping qualities and am amazed at the variety of wrapping properties achieved by complex weaves and high quality materials in Pavo wraps.

Parallax Navy

Parallax Navy is woven on an ivory warp with a black and cobalt mercerized cotton fill. It is both symmetrical and playful—a fitting wrap to celebrate our third anniversary! Parallax represents the many different lines of sight that create the whole that is Pavo Textiles.

Late to the party but what an honor it was to model for Pavo Textiles' 3rd birthday (and my 32nd!). 🎉 Parallax "Gigi" Navy is near and dear to our hearts, and one of the best wraps around.

Phases of the Moon with silk and alpaca by @pavotextiles has drape, cush, and stretch and is ohhhh so soapy. It is love at first wrap.

Andalusian Magnolia will be released at the upcoming @pavotextiles “Pavo Presents” trunk show in Asheville, North Carolina this weekend. I was thrilled to play with the sample because as you can see from my Andalusian stash shot, I’m an Andalusian fan. The magnolia colorway is simple and beautiful, and the pattern has been reflected so the birds are now heads up when wrapped. There are some differences in wrapping qualities from the black warps. I find it to have a little more stretch, grip, and cush than the black warp Andalusian and ivory warp Otomi wraps. It feels just a touch thicker than the ivory warp Otomis and is drier than its black warp sisters. I love it in my favorite carries with my toddler: FCC, FWCC, DH, and knotless ruck.

Stash Shot Saturday: 2016 New Years edition.

I’m often asked for pictures of “Sampler” Duet. It is a very special wrap that we lucky to use often. This is the wrap we grab for snuggles or on a bad day. Or on a good day. This is a wrap that I find myself folding every weekend when I round up the used stash from the house from the week before. These are some old photos, taken during my first week back to work full time last winter. I love these colors and how they meld together.

We don’t wear Woven Wings often, but a few beautiful WWs have lived here and this week the epic visiting Hemingway Grey made an appearance. What a privilege to try out this absolutely stunning textile. I’m completely smitten.
