[id: Photo of some terracotta pots, mostly filled with plants, on a white ledge next to a window. A brown striped cat sits atop the nearest pot, looking out the window. The point of view does not allow the viewer to see what the cat is looking at, but there is an apartment building and a bright sky in view. End id.]
Today’s mood: live in a forest cottage, make magic potions and grow herbs in the garden
“A lover doesn’t discourage your growth. A lover says, ‘I see who you are today, I cannot wait to see who you become tomorrow.’”
Ooof 😔
This afternoon while taking a group trip to the oxygen bar to ease our failing lungs on top of this mountain, my cousin’s 13 year old, morbidly obese puggle had a seizure. I called the vet 15 minutes before closing while everyone was at the rehearsal dinner prepared to take her to the vet to get checked out, knowing well enough that there was nothing a vet could do for her. I did not go back to check on her for another two hours because I wanted to spend some time with my dad who also skipped dinner due to altitude sickness.
I returned to my unit at 8pm to make something quick to eat, have an edible, and settle in to a podcast for the night. Unfortunately, I checked on Trixie and she was not breathing. My altitude sick dad rushed up to my unit, coming in hardly able to breathe, because he wanted to make sure that it wasn’t just me. My cousin and aunt came back home at the same time as he got here. There were tears everywhere and very little time for anyone to process.
Tomorrow is my other cousin’s wedding. The maid of honor just lost her dog unexpectedly. The mother of the bride was defacto dogmom, Rach had to move to Canada and couldn’t bring the dog, and is currently blaming herself for the death because she brought the dogs up to Breckenridge.
What a day. What a night.
