If you're looking for a man in Finance, with a trust fund; 6'3 sorry and blue eyes..well, his name is Colton Crane and he was born in New York. This middle child comes equipped with emotionally absent parents but an excellent gene pool, two brothers he almost shares a face with, the patience of a Bedouin monk, wit, charm and the ability to mediate a war out of happening; see, brothers. Colt grew up disgustingly rich but in a non-affectionate environment, which naturally meant he knew nothing about expressing love and being loyal to anyone he wasn't sharing a face or DNA with.

Naturally, this led to a string of meaningless flings with starlets, wannabes, socialites and women who were more focused on his family name and money so he didn't need to put an actual effort into keeping. And he really wasn't interested in keeping them either. Even when he cheated on them, they endured; he was growing desperate on how to get rid of them. Apparently, he fit their dream type even when he was actively trying to be a jerk. What a mess… And then he met Sloane; and he didn't know what hit him. For the first time, Colton actually wanted to take care of someone, be present and make her happy. Other girls? Oh God, women still existed!? He knew nothing of it!

In the next few years, it was all going great for him really. He had an on-again-off-again relationship, but otherwise perfect by his standards, his career was skyrocketing, his parents weren't on his case that much and his brothers were cool. Everything was great. Until it wasn't. First, it was Sloane that was gradually distancing herself emotionally. Had he done something wrong? Had he managed to break his favorite girl? At the same time, there was something in the air with his little brother, Patrick too. The kid, Colt always knew, was all over the place..but he never vanished off the face of the earth, especially for so long as to have them all worried. He knew his parents knew what was going on, but he and his brother were in the dark, as if they suddenly weren’t part of the family. It was a mess.

And then there was a phone call. A damn phone call. Patrick was dead; simple and complicated as that, no answers, no nothing. His parents wouldn't say a word and it was driving Colton mad. He was a wreck; he loved his brother and now he was gone..and before long, Sloane was gone too. He didn't blame her, not really. He knew he was a shitshow at the time, drowning in grief, he wasn't good enough to keep her. After that, it was a few blurry months, filled with alcohol, pain and self loathing. But you can't keep a Crane down for long. To the outside world, Colton Crane was fine. In fact he was great.

And he intended to be great; only for real this time. For the next year and a half, he worked himself to the ground, took care of friends, bonded more with his older brother, expanded his financial consulting firm and then gradually found parts of his old self; the guy who laughed loudly, who enjoyed sports, art and parties. And he knew he'd be good again...

It was mostly a need for change, something silly that got him to move alone across the country. Well, not alone, he had a couple of friends in Aurora Bay and they had highly recommended the place. So he moved..and ran into his ex —and she was a mother now. A little girl she didn't tell him existed, while she had been flirting with him again while being with another guy. He found out by accident and he almost lost the ground beneath his feet when Sloane said that for a while she thought the kid she was pregnant with might have been his and she never said a word. The kid wasn't his but something in him broke, something altered in the way he saw Sloane. He..was over her.

Since then, Colton's been doing great. His career's great, he's made friends and..maybe he's making a home for himself in a place where he's just another guy and not a Crane heir. And it's great.

"I'm..a little more of an asshole than usual. Or so I'm told." he offered annoyed. Tired. "Easily annoyed. Not into talking..want to be left alone."

"This is so stupid but..." he mused. "Patrick was a basketball fan so..for his last birthday we celebrated, I took him to a game. Courtside tickets and all that. Captain Clutch signed this baseball for him..." Colton chuckled recounting the story. "My brother..he turned 30..and we have all this money and access and..." he huffed out a laugh "he was so damn proud of getting a ball signed".

"Now he's been gone almost three years and I still have the damn thing mounted in my living room."

"I don't know if I'd call it my 'type'..but probably someone confident, sharp, fun, and..a little difficult to impress." Colton chuckled. "I usually gravitate toward people who are emotionally self-contained, romantically or not." Partly because he respects independence, and partly because distance feels familiar, though he'd never admit it.

"And because I know where this is going..I'll admit it, okay, this means things can go one way or the other. At best, it can be great, highly compatible..playful, equal, loyal, emotionally grounding. At worst" offered a shut up don't say it look "I end up dating women who are withholding or unpredictable and the relationship becomes a never ending cycle of push and pull that becomes toxic before we even realize it." he said evenly. Sue him, he'd done some growing up.

"Dude. Emergency." A loud rustling sound. "Not, like, a real emergency. Nobody's bleeding. I don't think so." A pause. "Do penguins have knees?" Silence. "I need you to answer honestly because Trev says they don't, but Trevor also thinks pesto is a vegetable and his girlfriend is loyal to him, so his credibility is in hell." Someone in the background shouts "Hang up!" The voice goes on "No. Colton knows financial things. Penguins are probably financial. They wear a suit!" A glass clinks loudly. "Also, I may have told the bartender you own a yacht." A pause. "Do you own a yacht? Or is it a plane?" Another pause. "Don't answer that, you rich son of..no, I'm afraid of your mom, can't say it." A beat. "What— why'd I call you again?"

Colton shook his head. Blake —the perpetrator of this messy voicemail— and Trevor were his school friends since childhood. "I need to send them to rehab" he sighed "and then I need a drink"

"Okay, that's messed up." Colton said simply and honestly. Fresh drinks were set in front of them and he thanked the bartender. "I mean..and I'm saying this as a guy, we always know." he holds up a hand "It may take a minute or two, depending on a guy's smarts but..we know if the girl likes us." Some just don't want to admit defeat.

He takes a sip of his drink. "That's even worse." he said. Sure, he'd seen Ramsey's work, he was aware of her famous status. "As if you wouldn't know there was ulterior motive..." he huffed. He'd been there too; girls wanting to date him cause of his last name and financial status. It was an insult really, as if that's what people like him, or Ramsey in this case, had to offer. || @missxrivera

"I am no one's mother," Demi answers with zero hesitation, crossing her arms before pacing down stage so she could get a more audience accurate view of how the table rested on stage.

She watches as he adjusts it's placement, her mouth slanting into an unconvinced line when he put it where she had directed.

"Hmm. Could you pull it three inches back upstage?"

Colton shook his head and did as told again. "You don't know where you want this to go, do you?" he huffed out a laugh. || @demichu

"I know...I may have been a bit over enthusiastic, but the backyard and back patio were in dire need of some new furniture," she chuckled, looking at all the boxes they would have to unpack. "Probably would have tried to convince some high school boys to help me out." They liked free food and spare cash. "Care to come back tomorrow to build?"

"Good luck finding high schoolers awake so early in late of June." he laughed. Colton looked around them, at all the boxes. "Are you planning to tear down the whole thing?" he asked.

She can't help but laugh when he calls out the stethoscope. "Heyyy I was trying to stay on brand," she teases. "And my naughty nurse dress is in the laundry, so this is the best you get..." At the first reassurance, Zoe feels the blush in her cheeks immediately. "Was I being that obvious?" she asks, voice maybe slightly higher in that moment. "I--I swear I was going for cool, calm, and collected. And totally not overwhelmed or intimidated at all..." As Colton continues to chant the mantra, her amusement grows. "Yes, yes... just a house. Just a house... a simple house... with its own postal code." She smirks, nudging lightly into him. "Totally normal." And as they are making their way deeper into the home, in the back of her mind she wonders how much of this place was put together by him personally, and how much a well-paid interior designer decided. "It's nice, though," she admits, expression softening as she steals a proper glance around. "I figured it would either be complete opulence, or you living in an empty, unfurnished place with a mattress on the ground and milk crates for tables so, like..." She shrugs playfully. In no world at all could she actually imagine him living like that. Come to think of it, she's pretty sure he can't imagine anybody living like that, having been born with probably several silver spoons in his mouth. Or maybe a diamond-encrusted platinum spoon. He's probably never been anywhere where someone was using stolen milk crates as furniture. Her eyes fix more steadily on him, the smirk returning. "Hey, I'm not complaining. In fact…" he chuckled, teasing her. He didn't say though. Even though he was dying to, he'd be an ass if he did. She kind of walked into the sexy nurse joke, but..he was fighting tooth and nail not to say it.

Colton shook his head. "Don't worry about it. It's..happened before." he said as easily as he could. It had happened with women who were impressed and not intimidated though. "It doesn't have…" he said but paused "it's not that big." he said instead —which was far worse, for many reasons. But the ranch he bought was in fact bigger. Anyway, Zoe didn't need to know he was buying ranches on a whim. "Opulence is something I tie to my mother's style so I try not to go there." Colton chuckled, though he had a lot of pricey things. Well..almost everything in all his homes were pricey items but he'd blame his upbringing if called out. "I had a friend help me decorate when I moved in, so I'm hoping you'll find something cozy here at least." he chuckled leading her towards the kitchen to set things up first.

The marble island already had two wine glasses waiting. He laughed at the sound of her question, throwing his head back a little but winced. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Upper East Side!?" he asked huffing out a laugh. "And, technically, I'd be the Spare." he said lightly though he winced at the word. Story of his life and all. "So..Barolo, Shiraz or Merlot? Or..any special request?" he asked, setting both hands flat on the counter. || @recklesszoe

"Well, he was just delivering it so I did expect him to leave eventually." Selin said with a nod of her head as she pushed some hair behind her ear, clearly overwhelmed by the sheer level of things she'd ordered. "I was anticipating that he would carry it in and place it nicer than he had but I figured he had a long day." But then she shook her head. "I saw him walk away so let's just say that if I see him again, he'll have an earful of my thoughts and opinions on his work but I'm trying to stay in a positive mindset. I got botox done a few days ago and rather not ruin the results."

"Hey, I can be fond of both of you as a package deal!" he laughed.

"I...cannot blame you for that one." Colton said with an exaggerated nod. He was hopeless when it came to keeping plants alive. "Is he at least allowed to toss a ball around in aunt's garden or...?" || @linnea-lorenzo

"I guess I..still half believe that being impressive is the same as being lovable. Money, charm, competence, the perfect comeback, the perfect dinner reservation" he chuckled "I guess, somewhere inside, I think if I perform well enough and please the crowd, no one will notice the..less shiny parts." Colton shrugged. "And I haven't been proven wrong yet."

"Nope..no." Colton chuckled. "As a teen in the times of boybands though...I had pierced my ear once. Shameful times. The stud lasted three days before my father got a hold of it." Colton shook his head. "My brother..Ashton, the serious one, imagine...tried to get me to get a tattoo with him but I..." he paused and sighed. "I couldn't commit to the idea of something so permanent. And, wow, that sounds pathetic..."

Colton sighs. "When it comes to unfixable things." he says simply. "I'm...I'm not the guy who fixes everything though I do come with hell lot of solutions." pause "But there are things I can't fix either. And those things...I don't like them, I'm not good with them, they freak me out in a way."
