imagine: falling asleep while waiting for your f/o to come home.
it was late at night when the front door was unlocked in a hurry. the room was dimly lit, and the gentle hum of the air conditioner greeted your f/o as they walked in to the living room to see you falling asleep on the couch, clearly waiting for them to come home.
guilt slowly filled their senses as they approached you ever so gently, afraid to wake you up. they knelt beside the couch and brushed a strand of hair from your face, "Sweetheart," they called, "I'm home."
you stirred awake by their gentle voice and looked up at their eyes with a sleepy smile, "Hey. Sorry I fell asleep." you whispered.
they shook their head, "No, sorry for making you wait." they said, then their lips landed on your forehead. they gently climbed on the couch and spooned you from behind, holding you protectively in their arms.
and with you, they feel at peace.
