bae suzy. lesbian. non binary. they/she. muse s. * | omg … was that SERENA VAN DER WOODSEN i just saw pull up in their 2002 NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R?! no?? oh … i guess it was just CHOI DAEUN. you know? the THIRTY year old MODEL & PHOTOGRAPHER i was telling you about. i heard they’ve been living in HOLLOWPOINT for TWELVE YEARS, even though they’re originally from BOSTON, MA. around common ground, they’re known for being CHARISMATIC and OUTSPOKEN, but i wouldn’t be surprised if their ABRASIVE side shows up after one too many CORTADOS 👀. when they’re not KNITTING or STREET RACING, they’ve got 1-800-HOT-N-FUN by le sserafim blasting in their headphones — fitting, considering every time they walk into common ground they walk out with a new book on their physical tbr. let’s hope their RABBIT’S FOOT KEYCHAIN lasts them until VALENTINE’S DAY. seeing as they’re a PISCES, it shouldn’t be too hard.
a sense of the dramatics in everything, a half empty bottle of wine, a small yet cozy apartment, cat hairs all over your sweaters, roaming empty streets late at night, old money, custom made gowns, gala invitations, empty estates, messy hotel rooms, summer evenings, an empty feeling, crashed vintage cars, the build-up before a storm, the chaos of unnecessary drama
it was a joke at first, getting into street racing. first it was just showing up with friends to meets and pretending to know what was going on. but then a slippery slope of information happened with them. showing up turned into learning and learning turned into genuine interest in the hobby. it started to take over their life.
in a way to combat against their daughter's interest in illegal street racing, after having to bail her out of jail more than once for getting caught, daeun's parents encouraged other hobbies they'd previously expressed interest in: modelling and photography.
what they didn't expect was daeun to take both worlds and merge them into one for themself. cars became a big part of their life and kick started their modelling career with import modeling. but as daeun would get more and more recognition in the work, it expanded into other areas of modelling.
they would never totally leave the car world behind, even after hitting it big with high fashion, magazine covers, and high profile catwalks. on routine, daeun will return to import modelling and remind the world just where her love really is: with cars, grease, oil, and the sound of a beautiful engine.
even now, going into their thirties, daeun can be found behind the wheel of their favorite car and racing down the street of chicago that they fell in love with.
so dae isn't originally from the windy city. they come from the great land of boston. the great choi family holds power, money, and lots of influence in their circle in boston. to this day, daeun still replies on the influence and power that their family has granted them. often relying on them for work, bail outs, and protection when it comes to bad decisions.
"do you want to talk about what made the day so hard?" no hello, no formal greeting. when alex knocks on the door, daeun launches into what their family likes to call therapist mode. no reason other than wanting to gossip about other's days and perhaps help fix a mood or two along the way. "cookies are almost finished, just waiting on the icing to harden up while they cool. come on in, take your shoes off please."
"since you seem to hate all coffee," a trait that daeun just can't get behind, "i got you a matcha latte. i noticed you drink those a lot." the mug is placed in front of the other, next to daeun's own iced americano. "what's your next project you're making?" though the other crochets where they knit, they often swap little project ideas and adapt to their preferred hobby. "i'm thinking mitten for this winter we're about to endure."
"thanks for taking the afternoon to have coffee with me." they slide their friend's order over to her with a smile. "really, means a lot. i know i cause you a lot of work but i really appreciate you too."
