sasuke choosing not to replace his arm after naruto blows it off… shisui giving up his remaining eye to itachi when it’s clear he can’t survive… obito insisting kakashi take his eye under the boulder… there’s something here about uchihas and body parts but i’m not smart enough to connect the dots
i got it:
uchihas are constantly told their bodies are the most valuable parts of themselves. they don’t need emotions, opinions, thoughts. just their physical prowess. so when they are backed into a corner but still have an ally with them, they choose to give their most valuable belongings away: their own bodies.
