Where Do the Birds Go?
My Short Story, "Where Do the Birds Go?" Check it out:
Where do the birds go?
Ethan O’Neill
The phone rang when she was midway through cleaning the windows. It was her third pass through the house. I watched her pick it up, drop the sponge, turn quickly to glance at me and then slowly walk towards the kitchen. She whispered into the speaker, and occasionally looked over to see I hadn’t caught on. Over the last few days she had cleaned the house,…

Short Story I have been working on. Part 1.
Paintings by Soey Milk
Soey Milk is a renowned Korean, LA-based artist. She has a flair for the dark and the romantic, depicting lovely young women in various erotic configurations. Soey’s delicate graphite sketches and detailed oil paintings of doe-eyed ladies create a unique narrative world that is at once tender and strange. Follow her on Instagram.
Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present “PIDA”( which is Korean for blossom or become something else) a solo exhibition of new paintings and illustrations by Soey. The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, October 24th. via

Here is a commission I did recently. My friend wanted me to draw the area where he lived in Aukland as a present to his wife, so he sent me heaps of reference photos and google street views to work from.
The first sketch didn’t take much time and it had a lot of personality which I didn’t want to lose, so what I did was measure the dimensions and positions and transfer them to the A4 sheet using advanced mathematics techniques.
I was really happy with the drawing in the end, mainly because it should be hard to give life to apartment blocks, factories and traffic, but the screwy perspective and funny proportions do the trick!

Writers group
Hey I’m looking to join or even form a screenwriters/comic writers group down here in NSW, Australia. Anyone knows of any, or is interested, hit me up! Would love to network with some people and get a good collaborative group together!
imagecomics just sent out the official press release on all things RINGSIDE including the order code (SEP150595), release date (November 25th) and WALKING DEAD preview (#147, October 14th).
Here’s their full run down!
RINGSIDE TAKES THE ACTION OUTSIDE THE RING THIS NOVEMBER The new drama series set in the world of wrestling exclusively revealed in THE WALKING DEAD
The next Image Comics ongoing series from writer Joe Keatinge (SHUTTER, Adventures of Superman), RINGSIDE, introduces artist and co-creator Nick Barber for an ensemble drama set around the world of professional wrestling. An exclusive teaser trailer featuring all-new material from RINGSIDE #1 will debut in THE WALKING DEAD #147 in stores on October 14th and will outline the new series’ characters and storyline for the very first time.
First announced at Image Expo in July, the noir-inflected RINGSIDE explores the diverse relationships within professional wrestling as art conflicts with industry, fact conflicts with fiction and, overall, delves into how far people are willing to go for what they believe in, no matter how violent the result. As the series progresses perspectives will shift from the wrestlers themselves, the staff they work with, the suits in charge, and the fans cheering them all on.
“Ringside’s set in the often brutal crossroads between what people do for the things they love most and what they’re willing to sacrifice for them,” said Keatinge. “While Ringside’s certainly a dramatization, you would be hard pressed to find a group of women and men who give up their lives for the entertainment of millions across the world as much as those who enter the ring.”
Barber added: “As over-the-top as a wrestling match can get—the world outside of the ring can be even more compelling. Ringside is about the personal struggles and conflicts of those involved in, and around the sport (and business) of professional wrestling. While wrestling is the landscape, you certainly don’t need to be an expert to enjoy this epic story.”
RINGSIDE #1 (Diamond Code SEP150595) hits stores on Wednesday, November 25th. Final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, November 2nd
