7 Secrets of Happiness
1. Have a good core group of friends.
2. Build some adventure into your life. Donât fall into âthe same old, same oldâ.
3. Research confirms that âstuff wonât make us happyâ so clear out the junk â and only keep what you love.
4. Work on establishing balance in your life. Donât be too busy or youâll wind up depressed.
5. Give in to temptation every now and again. Too much discipline is boring in the end.
6. Like and appreciate yourself. Take time to notice and affirm your strengths.
7. Start living in the moment â donât doubt every move. Accept your decision as the best one for right now.
Is it right for me to hold on?
To hold on to our memories
To hold on to the connection we had
We both know it wasnât meant to last
But why am I still here?

Nantucket in Autumn
The off season Nantucket is so quiet and peaceful. I made these photographs a few weeks ago.

I hate you so much it makes me sick It even makes me rhyme I hate the way youâre always right I hate it when you lie I hate it when you make me laugh Even worse when you make me cry I hate it when youâre not around And the fact you didnât call, But mostly I hate the way I donât hate you, not even close, Not even a little bit, not even at all. â 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), dir. Adulthood is an art of endurance.
To be able to hold it all in while walking through the frontdoor of a hospital on your own. Youâd reminisce how your parents held you by the hand, spoke to the doctors on your behalf because at that time, they knew exactly who you were and how you felt.
To teach your eyes to keep all the tears from flowing out because youâre in front of someone. Literally anyone. Be it your best friend, your family, your partner, your colleagues in the office youâd considered your friends. So bathrooms and bedrooms developed into being your listeners and watchers.
To make ends meet both for yourself and for your family. To set aside your passion in order to be in a job that can pay the bills. To tighten up your belt and to swallow air while staring at any form of luxury other people may only consider regular.
To bear in your mind that you can never wholly rely on anyone because the worldâs relying on you. So you proceed to your daily struggles of proving yourself worthy of recognition, interest, love, rest, comfort, and legacy to be remembered about.
And sometimes youâd just find yourself laxing on a bench on a breezy 8PM, staring past the dusky clouds travelling the night sky, holding a bottle of cold beer and guiltlessly puffing a cigarette which smoke you never let go in beyond your tongue.
Survival and winning are painstaking and the only choice we got going on around here is to endure. To endure.
Donât go back to what broke you. Remember why you left.
