Voy a pecar de conspiranoica y decirles que empiezo a sospechar que el algoritmo de Tumblr nos está mostrando publicaciones anti-Argentina a propósito.

No seamos inocentes, Tumblr puede tener un algoritmo menos agresivo que el de otras redes sociales pero está ahí. Hay un filtro mínimamente por región, por banda etárea, por contenido con el que interactúan tus moots, si apretas el botoncito de ver un post extendido, etcétera.

Zorra vieja con los algoritmos, yo nunca reblogueé ni entré en discusión con ningún anti-Argentina. Por primera vez apliqué la política de bloquear gente, después de que el botoncito de "no me interesa" me funcionara menos que el maquillaje anti papada de Milei.

Y aún así, a pesar de todo , el feed lleno de hate. Bloqueo una cuenta anti-Argentina y me aparecen 5 cuentas más. Bloqueo esas 5 y me aparecen 10 seguidas.

Y me preguntaba "de qué le sirve esto a Tumblr? Por qué? Será mi cuenta la que funciona mal?"

Podés ignorar el primer post contra Argentina. El segundo también. El post número 15 te pican los dedos por el botón de rebloguear.

Y más tarde volvés a la aplicación porque ya estás enganchado. Para ver si alguien comentó lo que escribiste, para ver si alguien publicó algo lindo que te consuele de tanto hate.

A diferencia de otras redes sociales que se mueven por estímulo "positivo", X y Tumblr son redes de discusión, y en ese contexto que el reblog tenga más peso que el like cobra otro significado.

Lo que no esperaba era tener que sospechar del botón de bloqueo.

Era literal nuestra Mulan argentina. One of my favorite facts about the history of Malvinas Islands is that a group of indigenous Charrua people led by a Gaucho (think badass, brown cowboys with leather whips instead of firearms) tried to take back the islands from the English in 1833... and succeeded.

They captured everyone they didn't kill and took down the British flags. Then, English reinforcements arrived and captured them.

But the funny thing is: when el Gaucho Rivero and the Charruas were taken to England to be prosecuted, the court determined they were innocent, since the crimes they'd committed happened outside of British jurisdiction. So they were set free and returned safely to their homeland.

Of course, the Islands are still occupied by the English and we lost the actual war in 1982, but it's always worth remembering just how long we've been trying to reclaim territory that was ours hundreds of years before the British claimed it.

- Discovery of the isles is disputed between Spain, France and the UK, with the oldest sighting dated back to 1502, with the first full illustration being drawn in 1520 on the Magallanes expedition. But eventually the French disembark in the isles in 1764, naming the isles Malouines after Saint-Maló, which translated into spanish as Malvinas.

- 1766: France and Spain reach an agreement (after much deliberation and conflict) that the isles are now part of Spain's domain, and governance of the region is established under Buenos Aires' rule, with a new governor being sent to the isles. 32 governors succeed him henceforth.

- 1770: England tries to take control of the isles, but are stopped by Spain

- 1811: after the Napoleonic wars and the argentinian revolución de Mayo, the isles are abandoned by the spanish and taken over by the new independent territory, based on the principle of Uti Possidetis Iuris, through which a newly emancipated state inherits all territory which is within the jurisdiction of the colonizers. In this case, since the Malvinas were under the rule of the Viceroy of the Río de la Plata, they belonged to Argentina.

- 1820: Argentina formally claims the isles, and the news is published in The Times in 1821

- 1823: Luís Elías Vernet is given the territory to govern and exploit its resources

- 1833: The isles are taken by the british. A war vessel under the command of captain Onslow arrives onto the isles and tells the leader his intention to take the land, and the latter has no choice but to accept, being in no condition to combat it.

None of this screams "rightfully ours", does it? In fact it points to the opposite, ironically.

Oh and before you tell me about the right of self determination: yeah the UN itself disqualifies that standpoint due to the fact that all the inhabitants of the isles were brought over by the UK in the colonial formula they oh so love, therefore they would obviously choose to remain under england's control. So no you dont get to wash your hands off of this one.
