Summary: The game takes place in a fictional world inhabited by ribika, humanlike beings with cat ears and tails. Their country, an island called Sisa, is plagued by two mysterious afflictions. One, a phenomenon known as The Void, has caused the earth to reject the ribika, making plants and animals impossible to touch, with major food shortages as a consequence. The other, a strange, deadly, and slowly-spreading disease known as the Sickness has killed off a large percentage of the female ribika population.
Konoe lives alone in the village of Karou, where the ribika have resorted to a system of sacrifice simply to keep the surviving villagers fed. One day in Karou, Konoe suddenly begins to have horrible, recurring nightmares, and he awakens to discover that the emblems of a legendary curse have appeared on his body. Seeking answers and fleeing a cruel fate in his village, Konoe embarks on a quest that spirals into something much larger than a simple country cat could’ve bargained for…
