This is a call out post for instagram user midoriya_deku_h
First of all I’d like to say, please DO NOT send this person any hate whatsoever.
I found this account about a week ago and saw that they had reposted a bunch of my art as well as many of my friends’ art and so naturally I was upset. I reported the posts and thankfully they were taken down. However, today I was sent a link (thank you!!) to the above post to find that they had reposted one of my more recent comics. As you can see in the image above, IG user midoriya_deku_h cropped my originals in order to remove the ‘do not repost’ on my work. I have reported the post and it has been taken down. They also edited out the “please do not repost” from @thatmightyheart ‘s work as well and reposted it without permission. The point that I wish to make with this post is to please stop supporting repost accounts like this. Do not follow them and do not like/reblog/retweet their posts. 5.5k followers is a lot of followers, and to be frank, accounts like this do not deserve the support they get. Reposters will often not ask permission of the artist to repost their work and some will even edit or crop out the artist’s watermark. They do not respect the amount of time that is put into each drawing and they do not respect artists at all.* If you really want to see more content of things you like and to support artists properly, follow the original artists’ accounts! *disclaimer: there are some reposters who get the okay from artists to repost their things, who also credit these artists properly. These are NOT the reposters I’m talking about and am only referring to those who do not ask for permission and/or do not credit the artist properly. @ fellow BNHA artists, please go to midoriya_deku_h ‘s account to see if they reposted your work. Here is a tutorial on how to report an IG post.
TLDR; STOP REPOSTING ART WITHOUT PERMISSION AND STOP SUPPORTING REPOST ACCOUNTS
Fandom Etiquette
I’ve been around for a really long time in various fandoms, and no one ever writes this stuff down. I’ll start. Please add to the list. We can’t expect people to follow “rules” they don’t know exist.

Fanart
if you like something, reblog it. Help the artist get their work out there in front of more people. Share the joy that it brought you.
if you want more of it, support it. This can be via commissions, reblogs, recommending the artist to other people, shouting in the tags, or sending the artist asks/messages.
if you hate it, keep scrolling. Keep the hate in a message window with a friend, not in the artist’s notes.
if you want to use it, ask permission. Artwork is beautiful and you want to show it off. But please ask the artist before you throw it into your header or your icon.
if you use it, give credit. And not just a post where you say “Do you like my new icon? X made it!”. Put it in your blog description, that way when someone rolls around your blog three months from now, they also know where your icon/header came from.
Fanfic
if you like something, reblog it. Help the author get their work out there in front of more people. Share the joy that it brought you.
if you want more of it, support it. Kudos are fine, but if you want more of the thing you like, you should comment. Subscribe to the story or the author. Send them a message about how much you like what they wrote.
if you read it, kudos it. Or give it a thumbs up. And this is just if you managed to get all the way to the end. If you finished the story and you actually liked it? Comment and reblog.
don’t demand content. Be patient. Stories take time. You can encourage without being demanding. Show your love for what’s there without telling them to post more often.
be gentle with criticism. Some people want it and some people run away from it. If you don’t know what type of person the author is, it’s best not to go there. “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything.”
Fandom
ship and let ship. You love your ship and other people love theirs. No one needs to “win” when we’re all going to end up in tears anyway.
if you hate it, stay out of the tag. This has two meanings: 1) don’t deliberately put hateful commentary in a tag and 2) if you hate a tag, don’t go and read through that tag just to make yourself angry
if someone makes you something, appreciate it. Read and comment the fic. Like and reblog the artwork. Pimp it out and tell them how much you loved it. It’s a gift, treat it like one.
if it’s a gift, put some effort into it. You signed up for that exchange three months ago and now it’s a week before you have to send the gift and you don’t have the time or the inclination to do the thing. Well too bad. Someone out there has been working hard in your gift, so you should do the same for them.
none of us are “better” than anyone else. We’re all trash for our particular show/film/book/ship/artist/what-have-you. My fave is no better than yours and yours is no better than mine.
actors are not their characters. They are people. Treat them like people.
An artist : Aw man! I saw my arts were reposted on Instagram. I’ve asked them to take my arts down but they ignored me.
Me : Say no more! Click this link, then click ‘fill out this form’. Fill the form and wait for about 1-2 days, the staffs will remove the image you were reporting from the reposter’s account :^)
hope you don’t mind me adding some more info :’D

These dorks are officially canon in my book and no one can tell me other wise.
since there’s apparently some sort of confusion on the matter (read: people are idiots)
i am seeing a lot of reposting lately, so here i am reblogging my own post. also, reverse google tends to only work for stuff like deviantart or twitter, so if you want to find a pixiv artist, use saucenao.
i cannot stress this enough, y’all need to stop supporting blogs that steal art. i don’t care how pretty the art is or how badly you want it on your blog.
What if I have an art and I don’t know the artist, and I can’t find the artist anywhere, since sometimes artists just disappear, sadly. Can I post the art and say in big big big letters that it’s not my art and if someone knows the artist, please tell me?
no. if it’s not on reverse google image search or saucenao, idc. you still shouldn’t post it. people can remove your text when they reblog, and now no one knows it’s not yours. it’s just a bad idea. chances are if you can’t find the artist, they don’t want to be found.
For people who don’t know, reblogging is NOT the same as reposting. Reblogging is hitting the reblog button and the art is still linked to the artist’s original post. To repost means to save an image and then post that image onto a site as your own post. That is also the case for EDITS. Cropping and/or changing a piece of fanart does not give you the right to automatically consider it your art if you do not have permission from the original artist. So if an artist does not allow reposts then assume they do not allow edits.
an excellent addition to my post, thank you
I'm glad that you think so, and thank you for making such a great post to begin with!

The FMA crossovers continue!!! I was thinking about how a Kamijirou confession would go down and Ed x Winry came to mind.
[please do not repost onto other sites. reblogs are okay!]
Here’s the link to the Roy x Riza crossover I previously did!

I’ve been wanting to make this educational “cheat sheet” for a while, so I finally got around to it! I hope it helps explain reposting!
Reposting = uploading somebody else’s artwork onto different websites.
Please reblog and repost this chart anywhere and everywhere!
Another note is that this applies to all fandoms and artists from all countries. With the second season over and the third one on the way, the bnha community is growing and so is the number of reposts. This is something that needs to be shared, especially for people who aren't familiar with posting etiquette or are simply new to online fandoms in general.
