“Ugh,” Faith said at the mention of Angel. She rolled her eyes a little, not exactly keen on Buffy’s beau and the many, many reasons they apparently weren’t allowed to stake his ass. Blondie had a thing for bloodsuckers and didn’t even have the decency to hide it.
The Slayer shrugged casually. “You know me, always… chivalrin’,” she said, quickly changing subjects to cover for the fact that she wasn’t entirely sure what that word meant. “Don’t go too hard on Xan-Man. Not all of us can be Chosen Ones. A heavy burden but I think I rock it well.” She smiled at the other girl, her lips mischievous and her dimples visible.
“So, now that you’re off the ‘help us get the vamp’ clock, what are you doin’?”
Cordy always seemed like she knew how to have a good time around here, as sleepy as Sunnydale was for everyone but the undead.
❛ Anything that doesn’t involve dangling my neck to lure vampires for any of you to stab and disappear. ❜ But hey, as far as having a good time in the small town of Sunnydale went, Cordelia Chase was the girl to go to. She might have stumbled her way into Buffy’s group of friends by mere chance and some unfortunate turn of events, but all-in-all, she was still an outsider looking in, only on the in by the ways of Xander Harris — even if he was her boyfriend, it was a little depressing to think about. Maybe her life would be easier and less murder-adjacent had she minded her own damn business when she had to.
So she deflates, crossing her arms over one another, and motioning for Faith to follow. ❛ The football team hosts an all-night-long beach rager every other week. They can’t win a tournament to save their lives but at least they know how to throw a hell of a party. Of course, there’s always the movie theatre — or the drive in, but it’s the third week in a row that they’re showing A Streetcar Named Desire. So that also leaves The Bronze, which you’re thoroughly familiar with, so I guess you can take your pick. I’m mad enough at Xander and Co that doing a little disappearing act for a night doesn’t sound at all like a bad idea. ❜
