Nightmare - Eunhye x Krystal

Screaming. Crying. Cruel laughter. Bloodthirsty smiles. Red…blood, so much blood. Death.
A blur of images flicker past her shut eyes in a dream turned nightmare. What was once a fond dream that spoke of her childhood memories morphed quickly into the horrible darkness that clung to her very soul and past.
A scream penetrated the silence of the apartment, probably waking up some neighbors. It was ear-splitting, sad, and painful.
Krystal jolted awake. Her eyes were wide, and her blonde hair was an utter mess. Her sheets were tangled around her legs, and her hands were still clenched tightly around her blankets. Breathing heavily and shivering from the nightmare, she couldn’t help but let the tears fall from her cheeks. Sniffling and shivering quite pitifully (although she would never admit this later on), Krystal tried to take deep breaths and calm herself down.
It’s just a nightmare; none of it is real. In and out. Take deep breaths.
But it didn’t work.
In a moment, her entire apartment felt too small, too narrowed and cramped. It felt like she was suffocating. She couldn’t breathe.
Help. Someone help me, please.
Clawing her way out of bed, Krystal quickly threw on a hoodie, not even caring about her appearance. She just needed to get out, get out of there. She was out of the door in a flash, feet hitting the pavement, breath coming out in rough patches. A million people flashed through her mind in just one second: Chanyeol, Jongin, Arden, Sumin. But, how can I go to them looking like I just killed someone?
Too lost in her thoughts, she didn’t even notice bumping into someone else.
Her words came out jumbled, and she struggled to compose herself, her thoughts, everything.
“I-I’m sorry. I just- I just didn’t know where I was going. Sorry,” Krystal’s voice shook, and she struggled to wipe the tear streaks away from her face.
Cigarette smoke crowded around Hana as soft embers drifted to the ground with every flick of her wrist. Chocolate hues stared up at the glowing moon as her body leaned against the railings. It seemed harder and harder for her to sleep for more than 3 hours, especially at night. Her body had grown accustomed to taking small naps throughout the day, unable to drift into peaceful slumber as insomnia plagued her every cell. It was distressing, but Hana had grown used to it.
It became a routine, to wake in the dead of the night, don her slippers before slipping out of her apartment to gaze up at the moon in all its phases and simply enjoy a smoke. There was a tranquility at such times in the night, that, after she’d accepted the fact that her sleeping schedule would not return to normal, she became to enjoy the small periods of times that she could be completely alone with her thoughts.
Only, it seemed, she would not be alone tonight. No, the clambering of footsteps down the hall garnered her attention as her eyes shifted towards the direction of the noise. A body could be made out --- who was that? They seemed to be fleeing something frantically, hair disheveled, voice shaking, body shivering, as they collided with Hana. Taking a step back from the impact, though it was not much at all, Hana was very much at a lost for words.
She recognized the other, occasionally seeing her within the hallways of Mugunghwa or in the elevators, but had never actually conversed with her. Hana only remembered her smile -- and her seemingly bubbly personality. She much rather preferred such to the current, tear-stained other staring up at her.
“It’s fine” Hana replied calmly. It was very much not fine. In fact, Hana wasn’t quite sure just what to do. She hated tears, hated people crying, because she wasn’t sure how to deal with it. Whenever her younger siblings cried, she’d try her best to flee the room and call for help. It was very much discomforting that the waterworks didn’t seem to be stopping. Taking out a small handkerchief from her pocket, she held it out for the other as if implying her to take it. “sorry, theres bits of paints on it” she commented nonchalantly, body unconsciously leaning away from the girl in case her gesture got her into a situation she’d much rather be out of.
