“No bullshit.” He repeated. “Let’s cut the sappiness” Flynn joked. He was all about sappiness. “I’m just trying to get a little more food in my stomach right now. You arrived and suddenly my appetite’s increased slightly.” The two were coming up on the steps leading up to the main building.

“Aw, but another part of Flynn and Eva’s Best Summer Ever is me listening to how much you love me. I’ll schedule that in for later, though, don’t worry about it,” she laughed, walking with him up the steps. “Is that supposed to be a compliment or not? I don’t think I’ve ever been told I make someone hungry.”

Flynn stood there, awestruck, listening to Eva list the things she had in mind. Flynn loved her, a lot, and he was reminded why. She had this ‘I don’t care facade.’ Always seemed to play it cool, but even if not many other people knew how Eva really was, Flynn did. “All of that sounds perfect. I’m down for everything, absolutely all of it. I know why I love you so much.” 

Eva grinned at his enthusiasm towards the plan - well, almost plan - she had laid out. It was the casual way he added in that he loved her that made her pause before answering him. Of course she felt the same; she had always felt the same way about him. Being in love with Flynn Castor was so easy. Everyone always said love was sweaty palms, rapid heartbeats, constant nerves, but with Flynn it was the opposite. It was being able to relax, to let her guard down. It was like going home. “Everything, yeah? I love you too, Flynn. For sure. No bullshit.”

“fuck him,” eva agreed, nodding in solidarity. they may not have had the same dad, but eva wasn’t too fond of anyone’s godly parent. not to mention, she really did want to get booze from this guy. the dionysus cabin was the easiest place to not have to pay for it, and she wasn’t going to lose a connection just because valerie didn’t seem to show. “my name’s eva marsh, but if april ludgate is going to get me what i want faster then i’m open to it,” she offered, arching an eyebrow. “privileges? well, let me just start by saying i’m a hermes kid, so i’m already proving myself since i haven’t just taken anything from your cabin. consider that as we come up with an agreement.”

eva shrugged, though she was the one to put out any initial hostility she didn’t bother continuing with it. “do you live in the dionysus cabin? I have a friend who lives here and was just coming around to see if she could borrow me any booze, but she doesn’t seem to be here. would I be able to convince you anything I’ve said before or will say in the future is part of our fun dynamic and get something to drink out of your cabin, if it is yours?”

“If I was annoying and wanted to make this moment more cliched, I’d answer with ‘wherever we want’, but luckily for you I have a plan,” Eva answered, looking proud of herself. “So, first of all, the places we have to revisit to have our nostalgic moments that naturally bring us closer are the burger place, that club you took me to, and the Zeus cabin to have a drink or two or twelve. Now, we can’t only do stuff we’ve already done, because we can’t live in the past, obviously. So, that brings us to new plans. We’re going to drink, or you can watch me drink, at your place to show that one of us is classier and older now. We’re going to finally have that sleepover we’ve been joking about for however many years and we’re going to watch movies and pretend we’re not twenty and gossip. And, we’re going to do every stupid, fun, couple-y thing New York has to offer us, because we’re young and we’re fun and we’re not going to worry for at least oe night a week, damn it. And while I did not answer your question at all, that is the outline to Flynn and Eva’s Best Summer Ever.”

Eva shook her head, holding a hand up to stop her. “No, no, I am definitely one for fun. I am all play, no work. I just have most of my fun off campus, because my most reliable drinking buddy, Flynn Castor, is mostly sober now, so I have to find other people to drink with. It’s sad,” she shrugged, before laughing at the girl’s comment. “Oh, don’t worry, you’re way too pretty for me to fuck with.”

“As long as the way you’re dealing with your paranoia isn’t putting yourself in danger for no reason, I guess I don’t care what you do,” she told him with a shrug. “I’d hope you put in the effort. We’ve got about three years of fun to cram into whatever time we have now. I can’t do that alone.”
