Push || Evan and Joey
Joanna was sure that Evan would do just fine with blending in, she just had to give herself time. “Oh I live all over. My father was military, we live in so many places I lose count. I born in Quito, Ecuador but spent years after Papi retire living in Germany. When I leave home I came back to states, I lived for while in Boston till I leave husband and then I travel more and finally end up here and decide to stay.” Joanna felt exactly the opposite of Evan, she had no more desire to travel because she felt she’d been everywhere and seen everything and was happy with the life she had here. “Where you come from, what bring you to Missing Mile?” She asked the teenager curiously. The werewolf didn’t think she’d have much fun with the girl at first but that all changed pretty quickly and now she was having a great time. “Oh no I never do that.” She answered watching Evan’s actions with big curious eyes. “I think I pass on dare, if I try that now with luck I have I probably break my neck.” Joey commented and just instead continued to watch her new friend who seemed quite good at what she was doing. “I know I not be much fun, I just like to stay in one piece for little bit longer.” She laughed. "Well I very much like to know your ways because it be a long time since I have good weed. I definitely interested in having more." The last Joanna would ever do would be rat Evan out, she didn’t even think that marijuana should be illegal and hoped that one day they would legalize it. Joey took the joint when offered and took a few more hits herself before giving it back to Evan. She watched her move to lay down on the ground and got off the swing to do the same thing, looking up at the stars with her. "I not remember the names of any of them, I sorry. Do you know names?"
Evan whistled. "That's a lot of places," she said, shaking her head. "I've never been out of the country." The girl paused, trying to think of a decent answer to Joey's question. "I'm from Florida," she stated. "Jacksonville, actually. I came because I wanted to get away, start fresh you know? I've got...." Evan stopped. A lot of baggage. "I was just ready for a change in scenery, I guess." She grinned in a sheepish manner, shrugging her shoulders in a 'devil may care' sort of way. "Why'd you decide to stay here?" The girl asked, hoping to divert the attention away from herself.
"Aw, you sissy," Evan teased, sticking her tongue out. She pulled herself upright, a little dizzy due to the blood that had rushed to her head. "Eh, no worries. To each their own right?" She grinned, resting her head on her hand. "Still, I wouldn't have let you break," the brunette commented, her low voice ringing with a subtle earnestness. Evan shook her hair out of her eyes, grinning at Joey's comment. "I could hook you up, if you want," she replied, winking. The brunette took a post-it out of her pocket, scribbling a number onto the yellow paper. "Here. If you're ever in the mood, shoot me a text or something."
Evan squinted, trying to get a better look at the stars. "I'm not the best constellation hunter, to be honest. But I know that one over there is the Big Dipper. See that big star? That's the start of it. It kind of looks like a spoon. Below it is the Little Dipper." She pointed as she talked, obviously fascinated by the subject. "The great thing about constellations is you can see 'em wherever you are. No matter what town or country or continent you're in, they're always there. I don't know, it's kind of comforting to me. And you know, maybe there's someone out there who's looking at the same sky, thinking the same thing I'm thinking right now." The teenager took a deep breath, turning to face Joey. "Sorry, I'm kinda rambling on. Do you ever... You know, think about things like that?"
