If there hadn’t been enough shock these past few weeks, well… Talia. Twenty-fours had passed and Lillian was still panicking, scared to go out for fear that she might run into the other girl, or someone she had spoken to. The latter was probably the bigger fear – that someone might have found out already. She couldn’t not go out though, if only because Andrew wouldn’t let her spend the ‘rest of her life’ moping on his couch – his words. So she’d forced herself out this afternoon, though she didn’t look to hot; their was am angry, purple-red bruise on her cheek and her left wrist was wrapped in a sling (she had sprained it when Talia wrestled the gun from her). She didn’t look that pretty a sight but she ignored any stares she received. She wanted to ignore it all but when she got to the doors of the coffee shop, she paled. Shit. She turned to the nearest person, smiling awkwardly at them; “could you, um, get that for me? I sprained my wrist doing the hokey-pokey on skates and… Lesson learned.”
“... The hokey-pokey on skates?” Evan repeated, blinking, before nodding a little. “I guess that does seem like a bad idea.” Even if the nephilim wasn’t totally sure Lillian was telling the truth. Nonetheless, they pulled the door open and gestured the other through ahead of them. “Think you’ll need a hand carrying your coffee?”
