ofc! and thank you, so far anti-inflammatories have been doing wonders for me (i just have to get better at anticipating when i need them lol). the imaging is a real pain to get done, so i don’t blame you or your doctor for holding off on that. best of luck! i don’t know much about treating fibro but i hope it makes life easier for you. (also, i wouldn’t mind adding you on discord, if you’re interested!)

Ahhh yeah anti-inflammatories are helpful for me for the swelling & stiffness but don’t touch the pain after the first couple days on it. that (plus an abnormally high inflammatory marker) is kind of why im still wondering if there’s an arthritic component. but im honestly already biting off so much already with testing and scheduling and life that im just like :/ No More Please Just For A Minute. My Human Mind Cannot Handle 1 More Event. I WILL Scream, And That Is A Campaign Promise

treating fibro is mostly... uh.. exercise. stress management. the Usual. *facepalms* i mean there ARE other things too (like certain types of meds) but i didn’t wanna start 2 new meds at the same time, especially since i’ve reacted poorly with that class of meds in the past. and there’s some interesting studies about cures and stuff but that’s a few years in the future if anything comes of it at all

hi thank you for this !!! i’ve been meaning to become more active on here again i just honestly forgot amid everything else. i’m doing nano this year but in a very… laid back manner. it’s not on the WIP i’ve been posting about but instead for an older thing. i might post my fun “best out of context lines of the day” on here.

i never seriously figured out the speech to text software but i have made some massive strides with my health & what i know about it etc. the good news is i have fibromyalgia and an as-of-yet-unspecified heart-weirdness. (the bad news is i have fibromyalgia and an unspecified heart-weirdness alskjdf)

it’s been…hard, to say the least, to come to terms with that. i’ve only known for sure on the fibromyalgia since thursday - making educated guesses based on “its the only thing that fits barring further testing” doesn’t count for starting to process grief, i guess. it’s frustrating how long i’ve lived with this and how long i’ve been ignored, only to find out it’s a really common disease easily diagnosible by Paying Attention To My Words And Believing Them. i also still almost cant believe fibro hurts this much, can affect me this intensely and deeply, which i guess goes to show how deep the shitty ableism + sexism surrounding it as a disease runs.

the good news is that im starting treatment for both things, and i’ve been educating myself as much as possible on fibromyalgia. a lot of stuff makes sense that didn’t before, and there’s quite a lot of room for improvement with me i think. the future feels strange and unknowable right now but im glad that people are still thinking of me and reaching out. it’s - it’s really good sometimes to be reminded that i’ve made a positive impact on someone, you know?

I am so glad you figured out the cause of all the pain, and a path for improvement (and ugh yes sexism/ableism in the medical domain is rampant i am so sorry you have to deal w that). Here’s hoping that now you know what’s going on, you get the right treatment and have less pain 💕

for writeblr positivity week (and to procrastinate from nanowrimo…), i decided to make OC moodboards for some of my favorite OCs on writeblr! and so, to start:

i think about @dove-actually‘s character lady ahni pretty much all the time.  she’s kind and a leader and 𝓂𝒜𝑔𝐼𝒸, and i would die for her. 

for some reason, i associate her with soft and warm browns and flowers… lots of flowers. also, the person i think of her looking like is aiyana lewis… hope dove doesn’t mind!!! this moodboard represent the Feelings i think lady ahni gives off.

Best Out of Context Nano: A Challenge

Hey, so I don’t know about anyone else, but when I’m writing nano stuff everything I worked to learn about writing goes out the window. this is good, because i mostly learned to not write unless i got it right the first time! it’s also good, because i’m just writing mountains of crap every day. mountains and mountains that i will later turn into something hopefully resembling gold. 

and that can be...painful, to say the least. writing poor quality work makes me feel like im poor quality. so i have a proposal to deal with that down in the dumps feeling when you’re trying to dump out 50,000 words:

Find one line you like a day, and SHARE IT! Use the tag #ooc nano challenge (and if that belongs to something else already let me know)

it could be good. it could be so bad it’s hilarious. it could perfectly convey what you were thinking right then, even if what you were thinking was “maybe i should take my head off the keyboard, it’s got to be writing a lot in there by now”. nano is hard work, and it can feel unrewarding. i don’t have the work ethic to get through this month feeling unrewarded every day after a lot of work. so let’s try and end every day with a reminder of why we’re doing this!

hiatus i guess?

so i’ve been trying to stay on top of the cleaning in the house more, but unfortunately that means with my arthritis and stuff i basically spend most of the day trying to calm down my hands so i can spend 1 to 2 hours cleaning. i have VERY little energy to do things like write or even...blog about writing. typing is pain and existence sucks! 

im trying to find a speech-to-text thing that will work for me and if anyone has any suggestions (windows 10 basic one is crap, but suggestions on how to improve it is also welcome) pls @ me about it so that i get an email.

ill be back as soon as i can, hopefully by november i’ll be doing well enough or have alternate resources enough i can do nano. :)

its weird to be really good at something but only want to do it for fun. like.... as soon as you sell something you love doing, you’ve made everyone else’s opinion count. before, the motive was creating for you, so your opinion counted most. but when the motive is creating for others, their opinions - everyone who helps you sell it, everyone who could buy it - matter more than yours. 

there’s probably some trick to healthy boundaries i havent quite worked out yet, but being able to say confidently ‘fuck off, you dont matter, you arent the intended audience’ in response to criticism or cruelty is very important to me. and if im trying to sell something, i dont feel like i have that right anymore.

Weylin - water. he’s malleable, he’s flexible, and he cries a lot. he also turns into a puddle if he likes u

James/Asha - earth. this guy’s a frickin mountain. you can chip him down, you can kick at him, you can blow him up - but ultimately there’s too much of him for you to make a meaningful dent in, and he’ll just grow a spite garden over wherever he’s missing pieces and look 2x as cool after. 

Faolin - fire. its the only thing that explains how rarely she’s burnt out, and how often she throws sick burns at others

Ulric - is shit an element? shit’s now an element. but more seriously.... probably water, too. he just has different priorities than roughly everyone else and what’s most flexible about him are his morals and his ability to justify anything he wants to do. 

Vakhtang - earth. i mean, makes sense, since her main job is being the walking incarnation of the Earth, but she’s durable and patient and doesn’t let things go. i mean - why would she? she has all the time and power in the world to make things right. she can afford to wait, as long as nothing unforeseeable happens. [many unforeseeable things happen. :/ hills dont literally have eyes, they’re super bad at seeing.]

Okay okay, I will admit that most of my characters that aren’t aro/ace do get matched up with someone in the series, but of those that don’t? Ooohhh, mate this is a tough question!

We have Hana, a pan lass who acts far more shy and innocent than she really is, and is an excellent gardener and tailor, but… I dunno mate, I feel like she would be too mature and responsible for a comedy. XD I mean, maybe that’s what contributes to the humour?

ALSO HECK CAN YOU IMAGINE SOFT GAY BEAN SINDRE IN A ROMANTIC COMEDY??? OH MY STARS I’M LAUGHING. He’s so sweet and innocent! And actually so! He’s super kind and is really friendly despite being the daydreamer that constantly zones out, very quiet too, so I’m not sure how that would work with a romantic comedy where they’re supposed to socialize. Hm!
