I had a crazy, stupid idea for a thing to do in Animal Crossing because my wardrobe in game is simply bursting ((when I realised those yellow jumpsuits looked awfully familiar.....)) - make the OC’s of a few peeps in Animal Crossing form!!

I realise they aren’t too accurate but there’s only so much I can do on that front XD and I was working on this alone so trying to work out emotes for two characters in the same photo was..... hard. I’m sorry!! I’ll try again soon XD

Anyway - the peeps featured!

1 and 2: Alicia and Marissa from Street Magic, by @cirianne. The yellow jumpsuit gave me this idea, ok. But the real crime is that there is not a white one :C i was kinda limited with my furniture and stuff so Alicia is in a classroom and Marissa is in her super swanky kitchen!!

3 and 4: Lilly and Grayson from our Street Magic Spinoff, by me and @writingonesdreams. I couldn’t not do #Lillson4Lyf. This game was made for bringing out the cute in Lilly and Grayson as a couple <3

5 and 6: Acacia and Kyler from The 5th Magic, by @writingonesdreams. Acacia, I admit, I struggled with the outfit, but I kinda figured she looks good in anything, so..... but Kyler was easier. I had a coat just for the job to make him look as swish as possible! Also him being moody is featured!

7 and 8: Sarra and Ahni from Knight Errant, by @dove-actually. Full disclosure, Dove, this one was the first one where I tried to have both characters at once, and I couldn’t figure out how to use emotes for both of them at the same time (I only have two hands forgive me!!). I did eventually figure it out and by the time I was transferring these files I realised I forgot to go back and make Ahni look more animated. I will try again soon though!!

9 and 10: Tilda and Rajani from The Dawnbringer, by @ardawyn. The outfits were my undoing, but I think I did ok! I have a little market like area in my town so I have to admit using it for Rajani was a nice effective touch that I enjoyed doing. Totally made the terraforming of that entire quarter of my island soooo much more worth it XD

I think I’ll do more of these soon. I might make it something of a game for writeblr, because it was kind of fun! I just need a more effective way of getting the images off my switch and onto my laptop though :( oh well.

I hope you like the images! I did have fun making them, and your OC’s are all amazing and I love them!

OKAY SO. TECHNICALLY SPEAKING, THESE TWO MET IN CHAPTER THREE, right after Colin was cursed!

More than several other pirates claiming to be friends of his have confronted me on the matter of his being missing, the encounters seeming to increase in hostility and urgency each time. Even if I was capable of conveying an adequate reply, there is no doubt in my mind that any explanation of mine would never wholly be accepted.

This is an excerpt from Dione’s journal! She’s been attempting to hide Colin (for obvious reasons), and even though the sailors on the Diluculo have no explicit reason to be thinking she’s responsible for Colin’s disappearance, they’re mighty suspicious! Isabel is obviously very much so. She’s not mentioned by name, but I can guarantee you that she was one of those hostile encounters. ^^’

Isabel García-Ramírez reached only to Dione’s chest when the woman stepped up to her. The height difference did nothing to sway her dread, particularly when the pirate unsheathed her massive cutlass to whip the blade up to the witch’s chin, forcing her to tilt her head back.

“You never did answer where Colin went.”

And this is from nearing the end of the book! When they meet back up with the Diluculo’s crew in chapter twenty-one. Ah. Dione’s... not having a fun time.

Aaaaand, later:

Dione grimaced.

‘For claiming to be less inclined to kill, that seems unnecessarily violent.’ Isabel’s smirk darkened with her laugh.

“Vengeance is different. And if you don’t manage to fix Colin’s curse, witchy, well--” The woman curled her fingers around the hilt of her sheathed blade, leaning forward as her tone hardened. “You’ll be finding out just how ‘unnecessarily violent’ I can be, firsthand.”

Basically, Isa is only allowing Dione to live because she’s the only person that can help Colin!

“I should probably go tell Isa and George what happened. Especially Isa, considering, uh… I’d rather not have her at your throat.” I winced. “Again.”

“Why must she be so…”

“Like that?”

“… scary…?”

“Says the intimidating, powerful sea witch?” I chuckled, beaming. Dione avoided my gaze, something like a coral colour highlighting those little freckles of hers. “She’ll warm up to you eventually.“

So yes!! They both survive! And Isa... kinda... eventually stops hating Dione. She’s still mighty suspicious and protective of Caelin the entire time, though. XD

ANYWAYS. This was very fun to go on a hunt for excerpts!! I find the dynamic between these two absolutely so fun to write. Dione does need someone to put her in her place every now and then. ^^ Thanks for the ask!!

Hey Undine 💜 happy STS! I miss hearing about Project Vestige, so I thought I'd drop an ask about it - are there any specific places/settings IRL that inspired some of the places (or the general aesthetic) in the WIP?

Antium and the aesthetic of Project Vestige is largely inspired by Arcadia Bay, another fictional town in Life is Strange. Arcadia Bay was based off of Garibaldi, OR, so Antium was inspired by it as well — albeit indirectly.

I got the name Antium after looking through Shakespearean settings for inspiration. I thought it sounded pretty cool, and as far as I’m aware, there’s no other modern towns named after it which was really great. The deciding factor was the history of Antium. It was a wealthy coastal resort town in the Roman Empire, that eventually was abandoned, which I felt really lined up with what I intended my Antium, OR to be. (It was also part of several conflicts against the Romans which is interesting, but unfortunately not as relevant).

When it came to researching towns in Oregon so I could worldbuild for Antium, I looked into Seaside OR, Bandon OR, and Brookings OR specifically so they inspired Antium as well!

Out of the existing towns though, the biggest inspiration was Bayocean, OR. Bayocean was a community in Oregon that was a planned resort community in the early 1900s. However, it eventually became a ghost town after coastal erosion caused by its residents, and is said to have ‘fell into the sea’. I thought this all felt thematically appropriate!

Happy STS! Are there differences in how magic works in your different WIPs? Are the magic systems similar in their general structure, or completely different?

Technically, all my WIPs share a ‘verse, but magic is kind of unpredictable, especially depending on where you are. Faery believes itself to be the source of all magic, and it definitely runs more rampant there. But there are also some pretty heavy hitters scattered throughout the planes, individuals who’s personal power and force of will change reality around them in subtle ways. Some of them alter the flow of time, some the flow of magic, some the shape of material/physical interactions. The one rule of magic is that ultimately there are no rules :P

Happy STS Tabby🧡🧡 Tell me more about the Knights of the Crystal Guard??? Since apparently that's my Interpolation faction. And i knew nothing about them! What's their role in the plot? How do they interact, if at all, with our main badass ladies ;) ??

SO I’ve mentioned before how Interpolation came to be... it’s a roleswap AU of a roleplay that my friend Yollm and I did a few years ago (so in the original, Ast was a star and fated hero, while Merloch was a Siphon agent and powerful mage). While some parts of Interpolation directly echo the original story, other parts change dramatically. One thing that HAS changed is Interpolation is a lot more slow burn. So we haven’t had a chance to meet the Crystal Guard yet in the story, unfortunately.

I’ve not yet one hundred percent decided if they have a large role in the plot, either... I know they will be showing up, and I have a character who is a member of the Crystal Guard (and another faction) who will for sure be interacting with the ladies. Her name’s Iluma, and she does end up as an ally for our ladies. I’ve got a few plans for her story, but a lot are spoilers. :)

I also forced my main friend group to all take the factions quiz and I’m tempted to quietly insert them into the story. And that does include another member of the Crystal Guard who has to be a badass because that particular friend is a badass herself.

:))))))))))))))) let me tell you about my girls and their powers

Nicole can teleport over short distances (a couple of meters MAX, like say, across the street). if she practiced she could probably go further. she has a bit of a complicated relationship with them, because they’re so fun to use, but they did cost her her biggest dream. she feels like she’d probably be happiest if she had never gotten them in the first place.

Amina has empathy powers. she can feel other people’s emotions. when she’s close enough to someone, she’ll get their ~vibes~ through one or more of her senses (usually touch, but sometimes taste or smell too, depending on the person she’s getting it from/their emotion). each person’s vibes has it’s own “flavour”. she’s not a very emotional person, and generally tunes it out. except for a few very special people.

for someone who's used to having all eyes are on her, Marie-Claude uses her invisibility powers surprisingly often. she spends so much time as an influencer getting people to look at her so being invisible for a few moments is like a break.

Mila’s super strength isn’t something she’s very happy about--she’s been made to feel like a freak enough as is. but hey, at least she doesn’t have to ask her brother to open jars for her anymore.

Shannon’s has super speed, which is great because she’s always late, but she still somehow manages to be late with them ??? but at least now she can take the extra two minutes to hug her dog before she leaves home. she would, however, very much prefer Mila’s super strength, because “think of all the dogs i could carry at once!😭”

Vanessa had shapeshifting powers, but only to turn into other humans. she quite liked them, because she never really felt like she fit in so with those powers she could be whomstever she wanted to be.

🍟 — Talk about another writeblr’s WIP that everyone should check out!

I've got a soft spot for kids from some scientific association/institute/etc breaking out and having freedom, so @incandescent-creativity's SOLE Project is one I would definitely rave about! (But check out their others too; LORE sounds super good, and I love to look at all the updates!)

And of course, I can rant and rave for hours, but go check out @theguildedtypewriter and their Newborn City stuff! The characters are all interesting and engaging, and I absolutely adore learning everything I possibly can about them! Also, the Power Switch AU had me cracking up and hoping nearly laughing wouldn't make anyone notice me not paying attention when I was supposed to!

🍿 — Tell you something I really love about my writing!

My own writing? I suppose I love being able to dive into a world and find so many things to play with in it! I mean, I'm not great at focusing on things (which is probably why I have a hard time deciding what to write and end up writing nothing) but I like being able to head into a world and then discover things about it I didn't realize before.

It's been really fun with my Death's Eyes universe, because there is so much to dig into and make and learn, and even if I never finish the WIP, it's a great learning experience and I can still use that "universe" to play with new stories and ideas, so nothing is ever a waste!
