Please, I’ve known that since day one. I’m very good at reading people, and I figured you were an idiot from the first time I saw you. Little first year me was smarter than you are, darling. [rolls her eyes] And you’re making me want to slap you.

[shrugs] I do have that effect, you know.

[stares up at him] I haven’t threatened to kill you in months, Elliott, at least for real. Besides, that’s kind of what I do. I threaten my way into people’s hearts. [lets out a nervous laugh, shaking her head] If that is your idea of a compliment, then you’re doing it wrong. Telling a girl her heart is made of metal? Not a smart move. Do you really think I’d be here if my heart was really like that? [nods, pursing her lips] I belive you. And…thank you. It was a nice surprise.

[rolls his eyes] No one ever said I was smart, Sera, you really have to start cluing into that. [shrugs] Stop it, you're making me blush.

[stares at him for a while, trying to figure things out] It’s not a matter of logic. I just wasn’t expecting it. I never receive gifts, unless it’s Cordelia. I didn’t know you…forget it. It’s fine.

Look, I- [sighs and takes a step towards her, and puts his arms around her waist, looking down at her] I like you, okay. When you're not threatening to kill me, of course, although, you know, [grins] sometimes, even that is bearable. And I stand by my point that you should have at least one heart, even if it is for show, as god knows your other one doesn't seem to be any less metal. [shrugs] So I got you a present. No ulterior motives, no weirdness, I swear.

It's your birthday. People do that. [shakes his head] You know, sometimes your logic does not resemble earth logic.

I do know when your birthday is, you know. And, like I said, I'm a gentlemen. So I wasn't going to ignore it. [laughed a little about what he got her] But I'm also me, so I wasn't about to be sweet.

[had been just about to go to breakfast, sees her, freezes, and thinks momentarily that it was lucky he'd already written his will on a dare. looks at the other people in the common room and says dramatically] Remember me fondly, alright. [follows her out]
