THE AVENGERS (2012) dir. Joss Whedon
Did not realize how much I needed a good vacation until I landed here in Mexico. So much of me has been contemplating do I really need to go back when the trip is up. Yes, I realize I do. Which means soaking up the fleeting minutes. What has everyone's favorite thing been so far, or are you more waiting for the few things still coming up? Personally getting to see the butterflies is something I've been waiting for. @hfrpstarters
Right? Hey, seems you got your wish considering all our flights got delayed. So extra day at least? Haha I think so far I really enjoyed scuba diving. How were the butterflies? Also, em, it’s so good to bump into you here. I feel like it’s been so long since we’ve gotten to catch up. Howve you been?
Chrisevans: @.Pascalispunk what’s happening? 👀
PASCALISPUNK: @.chrisevans Someone who hasn't been famous for a minute is pedaling new shit, and apparently in order to sell it she has to drag my man
Chrisevans: @.Pascalispunk never in my life have I heard of Billie getting into celeb drama like this. Usually he’s being shitted on by political figures so this is new haha
Our first trip as soon to be parents. I can’t get over this, nai. I feel like I’ve been on cloud nine ever since we found out you’re pregnant. How are you feeling? Do you need me to get you anything? @naomisxott
Private: It is! And I am so excited we are in a place where all we get to do is relax. Me too. We really are going to be parents - it's crazy. I cry every time I think about you becoming a dad. I love you so much. But are you ready to drink for two this weekend? I am feeling good. I just want you right now. Can we go to the beach and just lay there for a while?
Private: you and me both, baby. I can’t get over it. It still feels crazy to me that we’re starting a family. I don’t think you realize how badly I’ve wanted this. Being a father has always been something I knew I needed to be in life and I’m just so fucking happy that it’s with you. I love the life we’re building together so much.

Life with you. ❤️

PASCALISPUNK: Claiming to be dropped from a record deal for "being a woman" while using the word "pussy" as an insult. Sorry, are we calling out misogyny or perpetuating it? Malo.
Chrisevans: @.Pascalispunk what’s happening? 👀
naomiscott: spectacular views here 😍❤️ tagged: @evansrchris
Chrisevans left a comment: I love you.

I know we were just chatting up but since we’re both in Cancun I expect us to have a few beers one night?! You up to cause some chaos with me? @chmswcrth

Chris: because it has been a lifetime! I know, life has been doing its thing.
Chris: I’ve been well! Getting ready for doomsday. How about you? I saw you have a new series out on Netflix. It looks really good, I haven’t watched it but I’m planning on it!
Oscar: Ain't that the truth though. We must not go this long without speaking to each other again. Oscar: That's good to hear! I've been well, just really busy with work and trying to keep the kids and wife happy. If you get the chance to watch it, highly recommend it. Not that I'm biased or anything.
Chris: I agree. We need some type of regular communication. Plus, I’m gonna need all the advice from you about family life!
Chris: how’s jess doing? And I’m happy for you! You’re on absolute fire right now. What are you working on? I plan on it! I’m really excited to watch it I just need to find the time in my day.
Chris’s expression softened the second she admitted she was scared. Really scared. He hated hearing that from her almost as much as he hated the tears gathering in her eyes. His hand tightened around hers instinctively, thumb brushing slowly across her skin while he leaned closer in the chair beside her bed.
“Hey” he said quietly, waiting until she finally looked at him again. “You are not failing. And you are definitely not falling behind.” His voice stayed calm, steady, even though hearing her ask if she was good enough made something twist painfully in his chest. “Nai, you know what I see when I look at you? Someone who’s worked herself into exhaustion trying to give every single person around her the best version of herself.” A small breath left him as he shook his head faintly. “That doesn’t sound like somebody who isn’t enough to me.”
His fingers slipped up to brush carefully under her eye before he let his hand settle against the side of her face. “And for the record, you never have to thank me for staying” he murmured softly. “There is literally nowhere else I’d be.” That finally pulled a quieter smile out of him, especially after her comment about the apple juice. “Wow. Unlimited apple juice and a button that summons people? Yeah, I can see how the power’s gone to your head a little.” He was about to tease her again when there was a knock at the door and two nurses stepped into the room holding a chart.
What immediately caught Chris off guard was that they were smiling. Not polite hospital smiles either where they were trying to disguise bad news. His brows pulled together slightly as he glanced from them to Naomi, confusion flickering across his face almost instantly because up until this point, he’d been fully convinced they were about to tell them she had some nasty flu or exhaustion-related illness. Instead, the nurses exchanged another look with each other before one of them finally spoke. Chris sat up a little straighter beside the bed, suddenly very unsure why there was a shift in their energy.
There were so many people counting on her, so many people she had to convince she could do this for and she felt like she was falling at the first hurdle. It was all so much for her. She just wanted to make sure that everyone believing in her, who gave her their time, money, effort and belief, that she was a worthwhile investment.
Naomi looked over at her boyfriend, his voice, his touch, everything just steadying her. Grounding her. She had no idea how she got so lucky to have him fall in love with her. She tried to steady her breath but just let Chris hold her for now listening to his words. “I love you so much, you know that?” Naomi said weakly. “I mean, I can think of a few places I would rather be, but no one else I would rather be with.” Naomi attempted to joke, trying to bring some light back on the tense situation.
A laughter escaped her at the comments he made. “Yeah, I really like this button. Think we could get one at home?” She laughed before the nurses came through the door. Naomi looked over at Chris, reaching out to hold his hand as the two woman approached the pair. Their bedside manner was not one she expected, she saw the shift in Chris and was unsure if she should be worried or not. Everything seemed like a blur. “Miss Scott, we have looked over your blood test and you do not have the flu,” the older nurse began. “And while you do not have an exhaust related illness, it sure can make you feel exhausted. And emotional.” Naomi was still confused as she waited till the woman got to the point. “Miss Scott, you are pregnant.” The nurse said.
Pregnant. It explain so much – the tiredness, the emotional state she had been on. Naomi was so focused on the tour, she never thought to stop and consider the possibility. While she knew Chris was the one she wanted this life with, she was unsure how he would take to the news – and so unexpectedly. “Pregnant?” She repeated, her eyes filling with tears once more – but for a totally different reason. “Baby, we’re going to be parents.” She said, almost in disbelief.
For a second, Chris genuinely thought he misheard them. The room went completely still around him. Pregnant. His eyes flicked immediately toward Naomi, then back to the nurses like he was waiting for them to correct themselves somehow, but the smiles on their faces never faded. And suddenly every piece clicked into place in his head all at once. The exhaustion. The emotions. Her getting sick at the thought of food. His heart started pounding so hard he could actually feel it in his chest.
“Wait…” he breathed out quietly, almost laughing from pure disbelief as his hand tightened around Naomi’s. The shock on her face mirrored his own and somehow that made it feel even more real. Chris looked back at her, eyes already softening almost painfully as emotion rushed over him too fast to sort through properly. “Baby…” he said again, quieter this time, completely overwhelmed. Then she said we’re going to be parents and that was it. Chris let out this breathless laugh, one hand immediately coming up to his face before he leaned forward toward her bedside, eyes glossy already. To say he was emotional would be a complete understatement. He was filled with so much happiness.
“Oh my God” he whispered, shaking his head in disbelief before looking at her like she was the most incredible thing he had ever seen. “We’re having a baby?” The words sounded surreal coming out of his mouth. A grin broke across his face despite himself, emotional and stunned all at once, and he leaned in carefully to press his forehead against hers. “Nai… sweetheart…” he laughed softly again, voice cracking slightly this time. “I love you so much.” His hand instinctively slid toward her stomach without even thinking about it, resting there gently while he looked back up at her with this mixture of awe and pure happiness still written all over his face. For as long as chris could remember, all he wanted in life was to be a father. And now it was about to happen with the love of his life.
Chris hated seeing her like this. The second she tried joking about it being dramatic, he shook his head softly from where he sat beside her bed, his hand still wrapped around hers. “Baby, you nearly passed out at rehearsal. This isn’t dramatic, it’s your body telling you to slow down.” His thumb brushed across her knuckles absentmindedly, eyes scanning her face again like he was trying to make sure she was really okay. She looked exhausted. Not just physically either. He knew that look. The pressure, the expectations, the fear of disappointing people. She carried all of it harder than anyone realized.
“You are not letting anybody down.” he said more firmly this time, leaning forward in his chair. “You sold out New York because people love you, Nai. Not because you ran yourself into the ground.” He let out a small sigh, reaching up to move a strand of hair away from her face carefully. “Honestly? If anything, I’m glad this happened here instead of you trying to push through until you collapsed somewhere worse.” Even saying it made his stomach twist because he knew she absolutely would have kept going if nobody stopped her.
His expression softened almost immediately after, fingers squeezing hers gently. “And hey” he added quieter, trying to pull her out of her head a little. “You don’t have to pretend with me. If you’re scared, tired, overwhelmed, whatever it is… you can just be that. I’m not going anywhere.” A faint smile finally tugged at his mouth as he glanced toward the IV machine beside her. “Although you do look kinda cute ordering people around from a hospital bed. Very intimidating.”
Her fingers still tangled with his like letting go would make this feel too real. “I know,” she muttered, though there wasn’t much conviction behind it. The truth was, hearing him say it out loud—your body telling you to slow down—hit somewhere uncomfortable deep in her chest because she had known for the last week. The exhaustion, the dizziness, the constant feeling like she was barely holding herself together. She just hadn’t wanted to stop long enough to admit it. Her eyes flicked back to him when his thumb brushed over her knuckles again, and the concern written across his face made guilt twist painfully in her stomach. God, she hated worrying him.
The firmness in his voice when he told her she wasn’t letting anyone down nearly cracked something open in her. Naomi looked away briefly, blinking hard before letting out a quiet breath. “It doesn’t feel like that,” she admitted softly. “It feels like if I stop for one second, everyone’s gonna realize I can’t keep up.” She leaned instinctively into his touch when he brushed her hair back, her expression tired in a way that had nothing to do with sleep anymore. “What if I’m not good enough?” The woman asked him, trying not to look at him as her eyes filled with tears. All of this had made her feel even more emotional.
His voice softened again, and something in her loosened despite herself. Naomi swallowed hard, her thumb brushing lightly against his hand before she gave him the smallest smile. “I am scared,” she admitted quietly. “And tired. Like, really tired.” The honesty stung more than she expected, but she still laughed weakly at his comment about the IV machine. “Excuse you,” she murmured. “This is the most power I’ve had in weeks. I push one button and people bring me apple juice.” Her smile turned gentler as she looked back at him, affection slipping through the exhaustion. “But thank you,” she whispered after a moment. “For staying.”
Chris’s expression softened the second she admitted she was scared. Really scared. He hated hearing that from her almost as much as he hated the tears gathering in her eyes. His hand tightened around hers instinctively, thumb brushing slowly across her skin while he leaned closer in the chair beside her bed.

My brother, we are getting old as fuck. Things just don’t work the same anymore. I feel like I can’t even think about doing the things I did when I was younger without having a body ache haha for what’s its worth, I still think you’re the dreamiest chris in the industry. how’s the fam? I haven’t seen you or the kids in forever! You guys have to come visit me in Boston!
some of us older than others. remember when we were just babies on set, ready to take on the world. i don't think ice baths even help anymore. it's definitely not the fun part about getting older. oh stop, i'm sure you say that to all the chris' you come across. but i believe that you only mean it when it comes to me. they're doing great. kids are still feral, growing up way too fast but that's what every parent says. we can definitely arrange a trip over to you, i'm sure the kids would love to see you. i'm in america a lot more these days. but how have you been?
God, I know. We really were unstoppable back in the day. We were also ridiculous together. Remember that press tour we did together and just acted like to two idiots the whole time? Marvel never paired us back up for press again. A real tragedy haha nope, I don’t. I always say you’re the most handsome and beautiful of us all haha absolutely, come on through! We can take them the Boston aquarium or something! Are you in America a lot these days? What’s got you stationed down here? I’ve been great! I loved laying low and just getting ready for marvel stuff again. Feels weird going back to it all, I won’t lie.
Oscar: It feels like a lifetime since we last spoke and shame on us for falling off the wagon like that. Oscar: How are you doing? What have you been up to lately? @evansrchris
Chris: because it has been a lifetime! I know, life has been doing its thing.
Chris: I’ve been well! Getting ready for doomsday. How about you? I saw you have a new series out on Netflix. It looks really good, I haven’t watched it but I’m planning on it!
Chris: I love that you brought this up because that was my DREAM role! I’m so upset it didn’t happen. I wish it would still happen honestly. What’s one of your dream roles?
cailee: it was your DREAM ROLE? how did i not know that? cailee: i love that musical and would have loved to see you in that role! though steve martin did an amazing job. a dream role? it will never happen but dorothy gale. i doubt wizard of oz will ever be remade.
Chris: it sure was! Honestly a musical in general has been my dream role, but especially that one.
Chris: I wish it would have happened but it just fell through and now I think I’m just too old haha oh, I can’t absolutely see you as Dorothy! I know, but hey, you never know! With all the hype wicked got it may happen?
