Eirik knew Henri had to be either entirely occupied or in high need of company. The Valkyrie avoided the castle unless wanted or necessary and today, he figured he could be a little bit of both. He made his way to Henri's suite, a basket full of small things to get him by or enhance his wants but none the less, he knew the other could utilize the basket to his preferences. Knocking on the door, he awaited it opening before he gave the other a small smile. "Hello. Are you in need of company tonight? I come bearing gifts and treats."

Eirik could taste the soul before he saw the person. "You don't need to lurk in the corners, darling." He murmured as he read over one of the newest spell books he'd managed to get hands on. "Although you could hand me that wine over in the ice bucket. It's been a hell of a day. I could use some unwinding. Would you be so kind?"

He wasn't sure where to start, he was given a rundown of the layout to the castle. The training had been very thorough, intense, and he came out of it with a bit more knowledge of it all. Still, on his own, the place felt forboding and oppressive which made clear sense as to why. Still, he had a job to do as well as his mission that meant he needed to get comfortable here and quickly. He had just visited the office where they were to go to clock in, he had just gotten his keys when he turned. Not paying attention to where he was stepping he nearly collided with another body. He was quick enough to step to the side which avoided any major hit. "My apologies, I didn't see you there." He said quickly, taking a step back as to create space between them. "Are you alright?"

Eirik had also stepped to the side when the other turned, arm out in case he needed steadying. Dropping his hand, he gave the other a small grin. "Alls well. I have a light step, I should work on making myself better known." He murmured as he stepped a little closer. There was something so familiar about this soul in front of him. Then, on occasion, deja vu wasn't uncommon. "Quite. I was looking for a rather large hellhound with a problem being.... vulgar. Russian. Big brute. Seen him around?"

The bell in his shop rang and Eirik hardly looked up. "If you're here to make a request, there's a form on the counter. If not, feel free to look around. Careful with the charms, they truly work and I would hate for you to not know what you're touching." He murmured as he jotted down some notes while looking through one of his archives. When he finally did look up to see someone standing there, he nodded. "Unless you need me personally?"

— Caelan Vale moved quietly through the corridors of Krovs Castle, the familiar weight of the collar around his neck had become such a constant reminder of where he now belonged, that he no longer noticed the pressure against his skin nor did he quite let it define who he was. The Undercroft had its own rhythm by now; soft footsteps, hushed voices, the occasional distant command echoing down stone halls, and Caelan had learned how to move within it like a gentle current through a froest creek. He paused near one of the communal spaces, hands loosely clasped in front of him, offering a polite smile to anyone who passed as if it were the most natural thing in the world to still greet others with warmth here. There was an openness in his expression that didn’t quite match the place, an unguarded kindness that lingered even after everything he had lost, as though he were quietly inviting conversation rather than avoiding it. “Hello,” he greeted softly to someone nearby, his gaze lifting with calm curiosity, "This is a pleasant surprise- I didn't expect to see you here."

Eirik blinked. It wasn't often someone radiated pureness with such vivid appearance that it took him off guard in this place, but this man had it. "Hello." He greeted in return. "I was looking for one of the guards." He explained, holding up a book. "Sometimes I have to find my clients when they no longer desire to know what I found." He offered. "... you're quite a warm presence. My name's Eirik. And yours?"

Desmond struggled with sitting still ever since he'd arrived in the castle. It'd only been a day but he quickly caught onto the routine: stay in the Undercroft unless rented out or, in his case now, allowed outside for the oh-so generous hour slaves were allowed. He didn't intend on sticking around this place long, even though logically knew escaping Krovs Castle was near fucking impossible. Still, he'd been in some tough situations before and this collar around his neck didn't negate any of his skills or abilities. It'd take more than a day to figure out a solid escape plan though...

He paused in his pacing back and forth feeling eyes on him. "Why don't you take a picture? It might last longer," Dez said, perhaps a little sharper than he intended. He really hated being trapped in this godforsaken place.

Eirik knows how close he came to being in this slaves exact same position. But Eirik had value outside of the undercroft. He didn't enjoy that it was a fact, it merely just was. "Sadly I don't think you can help me, or yourself." The funny thing about his attunement to his gifts was that reading people was painfully easy. There was never any shock or depth to a person.

He could see their souls, how beautiful or imbued they were with darkness. This man had a healthy heap of both, trauma from something past. Steady and honorable for a period of his life. But he never delved into memory without permission. Way too intimate. "Sorry... I'm just... getting to know you." He offered. A poor explanation but at the very least, a real one. "I'm Eirik. May I know your name?"
