When I was little, I learned the accent from her. My sister and I would pretend we were 'proper English' from another time and have adventures. We really are. I'm Evelyn, by the way.

That doesn’t sound so bad. Which flavors? My favorite is Wild Cherry.

All the flavors. At least, I'm pretty sure all of them. All the ones I could find. I'm a fan of the fruit punch ones.

"Yeah. He had to travel to England and then when he was there he had to go to several places there -or like around there I forget- by boat. Mom was the captain."

That's really cool. My mother was English, actually. My father essentially grew up in the jungle. There was this whole hoopla about capturing these gorillas and the story just wrote itself from there.

She smiles a bit at the similarity.

Yeah, my dad grew up there and my mom met him when she went for research with her father.

I grew up in Kenya, right in between a national reserve and an elephant sanctuary.

I didn't exactly have what seems to be considered a normal childhood.

Not really. My parents weren't really into that.
