Art block...so drew a Freddie Mercury...then glued it onto foil, covered it with glitter, and stuck it on my fridge :)
Listening to everyone's posts and conversations about how much Bowie's music meant to them...I started thinking about how once you hear a song you love it's kind of amazing to think of a time when you hadn't heard it yet. i think we like to pretend we've always known about the music we love...but there was a first moment, for everyone and I love hearing about those. For myself, I didn't listen to Bowie as a teen (aside from Labyrinth)-but the movie Velvet Goldmine (a kind of glam rock fairy tale) literally blew my whole mind. I did not know Glam Rock was a thing or that that type of music existed, really...It was so so sparkly, and so so queer-It was one of the first queer movies I'd ever seen. So here we are. Page one ( terrible phone picture, someday I'll post these for real)

I’m feelin compelled to draw a comic about 14 year old me and my problematic space fave, Han Solo. (I love Han, but for real. A shining example of onscreen personalities I’ve been conditioned to love-and whom I would 100% not be okay with in real life…)
When the fragile masculine crusty jams get to be too much...
