awe paints his features as he watches Owen work with the raptors. Simon is eager to call everything on this island his own-- and he does, often. But he’s often reminded that no matter whose name and whose money is wrapped up in this park, it’s not him making it magic. It’s the handlers and the trainers, all the people he’s handpicked to work here.

“They’re looking wonderful, Mister Grady,” he calls as the training regimen comes to an end. “I knew you were a sound investment.”

there’s a delighted smile on his face the moment he catches a glimpse of red hair. Simon makes no secret of being close to his employees-- but he also makes no secret of favoritism when it comes to Claire. He slips an arm through hers and casually strolls her away from the group of people she was talking to-- they don’t look like investors, so he thinks he’s in the clear.

“You look so pale, Claire,” he tuts, patting her hand. “I’m sorry I missed your birthday, but I promise the present is worth the wait.”
