and-all-the-rest-of-themâ:
âOh, i feel you. I broke one of our pyrex dishes and Nellie still holds it against me. And it wasnât even my fault; it was Peanutâs!â she said, referring to the cat she and Nellie had. She watched Stefan as he talked about his husband, grinning softly at him and nudging him softly as she continued a little further down the front entry way. âYou are too cute whenever you talk about your spouses,â she said glancing back to him with a warm smile. Youâd have to be blind to not notice Stefanâs looks, but Madeline appreciated how sweet and soft the man could be.
She looked over the collection of photos of their kids, listening to Stefan as he explained what they had tried to do with their home. âYou guys succeeded. Itâs sucky, but sometimes we just have to make the childhood we wanted when weâre adults,â she shrugged lightly, looking to him as he stood in the doorway of the kitchen. Sort of like healing your inner child in a way,â she added, though she groaned lightly and rolled her eyes. âNeither do I. And that should have been a red glad, because she turned out to be just as much of a nightmare as her place.â

âDammit, Peanut, for ruining your partnerâs dish.â He joked, watching as she walked around to look at the pictures. Though, as she complimented him, he scratched the back of his head while shrugging. âThank you for that, Madeline.â He said, clearing his throat a bit she did feel incredibly bashful. âYou look adorable when you gush about your partner as well.â Walking away from the kitchen doorway, Stefan thought hard about this woman and realized he was starting to like her, but that was probably obvious to anyone who saw him right at this moment. He couldnât help but keep looking at her.
âSinclairâs said that exact thing to us, that weâve created what we wanted as kids. I was lucky to have some sort of relationship with my parents, even if it wasnât the best and Iâd cut them off for years. Itâs fine now, though.â Laughing softly as she mentioned that she shouldâve seen the womanâs apartment as a red flag. âOh, Iâm sure. There was one person who liked my profile and they were dressed in that lolita style. They were also so young, like Dravenâs age.â Shuddering, he grimaced and looked over to Madeline again. Shit, she was so good looking. âBut, I will say, Iâm lucky I came across your profile as you are an absolute delight, Madeline.â
