We have a loquacious God. At least that’s what Will Willimon thinks (“Preaching”, Sanctified by Grace, 221-233). And it seems he’s on to something. The Scriptures give us the story of a speak…

Intricate Geometric Animal Illustrations by Kerby Rosanes
Kerby Rosanes aka Sketchy Stories is an illustrator from Manila, Philippines. The young sketch artist specializing in amazingly detailed and elaborate doodles has been recognized by international and notable art communities after reverting to a part time professional career in design and has been featured in design blogs and magazines.
“Doodling” is looked down as a lesser refined art technique but Rosanes has brought the humble art to the forefront with his intricately detailed, creative and complex drawings. Taking a plain black fine marker to a sheet of paper, he explores a versatile range of themes such as surrealism, abstract art, cartoons, and complex floral patterns. From precisely mimicked animal portraits with a face partially made from mechanical gears similar to clockwork, and many portraits and subjects trapped together in the middle of inseparable yet opposing elements, the artist depicts the struggle of contemporary with classic.
Kerby Rosanes has amassed a huge following on his Instagram profile where he showcases most of his work. The artist has come a long way from sketching doodles as a hobby to becoming a professional artist whose works are recognized and appreciated by fans and critics alike. You can buy his work in his Society6 shop.
Re”pen”tance
Cold, hard, and dim I was, when I tucked myself deeply in somewhere cold, hard and dim.
Dust covered me gently as I slowly went to sleep.
I am but one of many.
One to be forgotten. Out of sight, out of mind, out of touch.
And there I lay.
——————————————————————————————————
It started with a thud. Some murmur. A rumble. Annoying creaks dragged their prolonged wailings into my slumbering consciousness. if I had any motion of strength in me, I would have rolled over, plopped my head side on the floor, and sealed out the noise. Hours? passed as I drifted in and out, blurring the dulling reality of incessant bustling with dreams of clanking hammers belting moments of my conception. I cannot conceive the force that was put into this.
A crack of sunlight shoots through the parlor, animating quiet dust kicked off into the air by steady beatings of swoosh, swoosh, swoosh. I barely blinked when a prickly, gnarling apparatus shot out from no where and hurled me horizontally towards the leg of a closet. Clank. All motions stopped. The room was eerily silent for a second.
I hear a faint giggle, a sigh of relief.
———————————————————————————————————
I am warm in this women’s palms. As she shimmers with delight at the sight of me. I am flipped back and forth, back and forth, until every speck on me is polished, blowed through and rubbed. She wrecked the entire place patiently to find me. I have found you, she says. Where do you think you were going? Barely containing it, she rushes out of the door and shows me off her friends and neighbors. “Rejoice with me!” She calls out on and on. Rejoice with me. I am embarrassed and I cannot explain. She is so happy to find the one coin she has lost. I am one of many. But one that she remembers. She bestows on me value and worth, because my journey into the world ensues.

Anticipation and delusion are inevitable choices during waiting. One calls on God, who slowly works in me to comprehend the fullness of reality. The other lugs me unknowingly into slothfulness with aimless ripples of ecstasy and despair. It is in weak days like these that I realize
that I need God because he clears my vision. I have no capacity on my own to comprehend and love and walk with you as the person you are created to be. Isn’t this what we are seeking for during waiting? A deeper knowledge and preparation to greet what we are choosing into, or opting out of, trusting that whatever the outcome is, God orchestrates because He knows us and loves us in ways we can never care to imagine?
On some days I hate the slow, painful process of waiting. Today is a day. But , reminded by the wise dude (take a shot every time he says ‘wait’), Waiting forces us to need God.
To delusions, who lead people astray: Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision, and darkness to you, without divination. (Micah 3:6)
A prophesy about Jesus (Luke 4:17):
17 And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” 20 And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. 21 And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
