Flying Saucer Blues - Margot & The Nuclear So and So’s
Flying saucer blues Nothing changed; things still hurt Flying saucer blues On my mind
I’m gonna win, I’m gonna try I’ll never lose, I’ll never die You’ve seen me before, you’ll see me again I’ll never give up, I’ll never give in Til I’m bloody and bruised Til I’ve broken my bones Til I won’t be abused Til I’m laughing alone
“What’s to you where I proper cry or don’t?” Shiloh piped up somewhat brashly, though her expression neutralised with the boy’s change of tone. “Tense?” She asked, leaning on sarcasm like she always had, “whatever for?” She tipped her chin up, though not in a better-than-thou manner. “Look, I’m fine. I’m just not about grim gatherings, or whatever the fuck that was. So if you want to talk feelsy, I’m not the bird for it, yeah? Try that Longbottom chick or something.”
"You're a bit stroppy, aren't you?" Everett said, a tiny smile appearing on his lips as the girl jutted out her chin, as if trying to make a point of not seeming feelsy. "Nah, I'm not about to try and have a heart-to-heart with a bird as tetchy as you. No offense, though I doubt you'd take any. Yeah. I wouldn't quite call whatever that was a proper funeral." The boy grimaced and attempted a nonchalant shrug, forgetting about the injury upon injury that had been inflicted upon him during the battle. "It was a bit pathetic," he continued, wincing at the pain. "They shouldn't have made everyone come, at least. Would've spared people who thought of it as a joke. Did you know the bloke? Him being in your House and all."
Every student that was required to attend meant another possibility of one, or more, rich asshole’s expensive trinkets being left unattended. Therefore, Shiloh was well on her way toward the Slythern’s common room ( priorities ) when she bumped into someone. “Christ,” she stepped back. “I was… emotionally drained. Well, what’s your excuse, then?”
"Oh, emotionally drained?" Everett said, a raised eyebrow adorning his face. "I guess you're about to go have a proper cry in the dungeons, then?" Everett winced at his accusatory tone, and heaved a great sigh before taking another look at the brunette. "Sorry, mate. Guess you could say I'm a bit tense. I don't even really know if you're going to have cry or not, but I wouldn't blame you—y'know, if you were." His hand has crept to the back of his neck as the Ravenclaw abashedly apologised.
“Another brilliant example of the Ministry’s incompetence.” Justin frowned at the lake. “This should have never happened.”
"So that's what you're thinking of, bruv?" Everett asked, arms crossed as he joined Justin in gazing at Black Lake, somehow pristinely still, not a ripple breaking its surface. "The Ministry? Mate, no use pondering what's already been done." He broke his gaze from the Lake to the boy, eyeing his frown. "What matters now is what we do in the aftermath. If you want to talk Ministry, let's see how they handle the school after this. I wouldn't be surpised if there was more talk about closing Hogwarts down. With the amount of times it's been considered, I dunno why they haven't done it yet."
“If you’re not going to be respectful, you should leave. –I don’t care what his last name is. Just go.”
Everett glanced at the Shacklebolt girl, eyes crestfallen at the events that had occurred so suddenly; the horrors that everyone had not only witnessed, but had been subjected to. He swallowed hard, a burden weighing down his heart just at the thought of it. "They say there is—was a dark mark on the bloke's arm, Harmony," he replied under his breath. "Yeah, it's proper rude to be a dick at someone's funeral, but...we don't know what he's done. We don't have all the facts." His brow furrowed, an irritation prodding his mind at being ignorant, for once, in light of the recent battle. "And the Zabini boy's dead, so we'll be hard pressed to find them."
