Things are changing, I'm coming home,
Research paper this really sucks btw
Depression can be caused by family influences and experiences. Depression is a disorde that causes the constant feelings of sadness, sorrow and hopelessness. These feelings can tear apart the person battling with depression. Depressin can cause feelings of suicide homicide and other violent ways of expression. Depression doesn't just have an effect on the person dealing with it, it has an effect on friends and relatives as well. Depression can be spread through abuse, it can also be passed down by genetics and maybe even caused by social events in your life.
Studies show that "if thre is depression in the family a persons chances of developing depression is higher". Family history shows that many traits can be passed down from one generation to the next generation. For example my mother has dark brown eyes as well as her mother and my younger sister. The brown eyes are hereditary in my family. But depression is different, depression isn't the color of your skin or the shape of your head. Depression is a sickness in your brain. Some studies show that people with depresseion have a different look to their brain causing them to have these feelings. Sometimes traits get pased down and skip generations. For example my grandmother battles with depression. She is always held to herself, she is quiet when she is alone and has very bad anxiety. When my family visits her she becomes a new person easily upset and agiatated by everything. It upsets the family and makes us feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately her characteristics are the same as my younger sister. Not many of my family members have depression but it is clear where my sisters depression has came from. "I believe that family does play a major role in the way we behavein society". From my perspective of my family history I do believe depression has been passed down genetically.
Traumatic experiences and changes are another way depression can be formed. Trauma from certain events in life can uproar an amount of sadness and fear causing depression to settle in the mind. Rape is a very strong subject that can be reasoning for depression. One of my family members was raped as a child. She was really sad, hurt and distant for a long time. Her mind was all over the place but she always seemed calm and humble around the family. Nobody knew what had happened to her until she started to act out. She became very rebellious and evil. She didn't like herself nor her family. She would dress as an outcast and talk like an outcast. Many times her mother would fight and argue with her until one day she wrote down how she felt. She let everything out. She told her secrets and poured her feelings on a paper. After cutting, herself trying to commit suicide and having such bad thought she was sent away to get help. Eventually she came back to her home. She was going to counseling and speaking to many people about how she felt. Her story is a story that can be told by many people. It didn't help that she always stayed alone anyway: "social isolation due to being the outcast can lead to depression". She isn't the only one who has been through this whether it is rape or physical abuse by a mother or a father, even a sister or a brother maybe it was an aunt or an uncle. No matter who did it, it can cause trauma, leaving bad thoughts in the victims head. These thoughts can really effect the life of someone who has been through anything traumatic.
Another way depression can be passed down is by social changes or experiences in your life. Bullying is a big reason for depression in young adults. Some people never get over the fact that they were bullied as a kid. Some people get bullied as an adult. Unfortuantely these actions can result in bad thoughts. Some of the thoughts play over and over in the victims head not allowing them to escape their feelings and thoughts. This is why they get stuck with depression. Sometimes social changes can help develope depression as well as many other obstacles. Moving into a new home can be a draumatic change. My mother used to move alot when she was younger. One year she moved so often that she failed a grade due to the lack of consistant education. She eventually dropped out of school. An event like this in anyone's life can really cause bad thoughts and hurt feelings. Luckily my mother took advantage of her life and got her G.E.D but this doesn't happen to just anyone some people are hurt by it and continue to be stuck in sorrow.
Depression is a sickness that can be treated. Many things can cause depression. But it is very important to pay attention to times in your life that can have bad outcomes. Depression doesn't just have an effect on the person dealing with it, it has an effect on friends and relatives as well. Everyone can be hurt by depression.
Narrative (Song)
A few weeks ago a former SHS student named Erin came to Schenectady high to help everyone create their song for a Seminar project. Erin was pretty cool she knew everything about anything and if anyone needed help she knew exactly what to do since she has been doing this with students for years. She came everyday with instruments and a positive spirit. As time progressed and the project was due her anxiety increased. She was very excited about the songs. Once the performances started she really got into them even performed in one and played music for multiple she did a duet and had a few other projects she helped with. Erin was really cool and made the project worth the time and effort put into it. Without her none of it would be possible.
Narrative (Dance)
Two dancers from Ellen Sonopoly dance company came to Schenectady High on November 27th 2012 they stayed for a few weeks. They only visited about 2 to 3 times a week. They came to teach the F.A Sem class modern dancing. Their names were Claire and Andre. Claire was a bitch. She always complained about bullshit like not dancing when you didn't feel well and asking you to share your fucking life story to everyone at 8 am in the damn morning. Claire also always had high water pants on and a camel toe, obviously her pants were too small. Her voice was like nails scratching a board. For some odd reason she pronounced Mr.Sarnackis name with a Z and Ms.Wygal as Mizz.Wygal. It really pissed everyone off. Andre, Claire's partner was really cool and down to Earth, but that bitch Claire annoyed everyone. Andre helped more than Claire he was more specific about everything. You probably wouldn't believe how much someone can ruin such a great experience as Claire did but it does happen. Well she didn't ruin the whole experience but she ruined some days. What a bitch.
Informative (Song)
Every year Fine Arts Seminar has a class project. The project is for everyone to make up a song. A graduate from Schenectady High named Erin comes to help everyone with their songs. This year Fine arts Seminar has a bigger class, usually its just one F.A Sem class this year it is two instead. Mr.Sarnacki the art teacher for F.A Sem and Ms.Wygal the English teacher for F.A Sem decided to twist the project year. Both teachers decided to make everyone write a single song and a group song. Each day in Sarnackis class everyone would work on their solo song and in Wygals they would work on their group song. Everyone would work on lyrics, quietly listen to music play instruments that Erin had brought in or their own. After having a few days to work on lyrics and music the end of the week came, i t was time to present. Erin and Ms.Wygal designed Ms.Wygals room very nice for the performance lights were put up and seats were moved. Mr.Sarnacki recorded everyone on the day of performing with a video recorder, while Erin recorded everyone's voice through her computer. after everyone sang their songs Erin took the music home to listen to again. After she listened to the music she cut it and fixed up a few things. The following week Ms.Wygal had uploaded all the songs to her Google Drive account. The following Monday Mr.Sarnacki gave everyone the password so they could listen to the music. Most students downloaded all the music on their phones.
Informative (Dance)
November 27th two dancers from the Ellen Sonopoly dance company came to Schenectady High. Their names were Claire and Andrfe. They aren't regular dancers like hip hop or ballet, they're modern dancers. Modern dancing is different than ballet and hip hop. In modern dance you make poetry or a story through movement in different ways than ballet. In modern dance there are different elements like molding, asymetrical, symetrical, refelecting, weight sharing and etc. With these different elements the dancers create a unique picture to the crowd usually to instramental music. The first day Claire and Andre came to Schenectady High they had everyone stretch to get warmed up. After warming up Claire and Andre decided that everyone should learn a small 8 count. They had put everyone in groups and taught a quick 8 count. By the end of the week after more stretching and dancing, Claire assigned homework. The home work was to go home, make up an 8 count of your own dance and be ready to present it to the class Monday. Everyone came Monday and performed. As time progressed the assignments became difficult. Everyone had to dance to a poem written by Allen Gunsberg or E.E Cummings. The next homework assignment was to write your own poem in the E.E Cummings style. The next week arrived and everyone read their poems to the class. After reading your poem you had to sit down and each student had to pick a poem they liked and make up a dance to it. While everyone made their single dances to those peoms in Mr.Sarnackis mod the rest of tghe students were making up group dances to other poems in Ms.Wygals class. The final project was to present your dances to the whole F.A Seminar, teachers that came and other students. Ellen Sonopoly came to watch the presentations as well. Mr.Sanacki recorded each dance while some read the poem while another student danced. Decemeber 20th was the big day of presentation and the lats day seeing Claire and Andre.

Reflections Sidd.
"He reflected deeply, until this feeling completely overwhelmed him and he reached a point where he recognized causes; for to recognize causes, it seemed to him, is to think and through thought alone feeling become knowledge and are not lost, but become real and begin to mature." -Sidd I can relate to Siddhartha here because every time I have a problem I try to run from it. I never sit and think about things. But there came a time this summer when I sat and thought about everything. I had time to reflect on my life. After taking the time to think, I began to see things clearly. I felt relieved from many situations. Sometimes its best to just relax and think. Be your own company for once and get to know yourself better because when you're always surrounded by people being away from them for a while can make you crazy and you won't know how to deal with yourself because you aren't yourself you're a doll made of whatever everyone left for you to be.
HoMS Synecdoche
The House On Mango Street is all about Esperanzas childhood on Mango St and how much she doesn’t like living there. In the book she uses different elements to give her readers a better understanding and a great picture of her view on things. With descriptive stories and many details I believe Bums in The Attic was the best synecdoche for the book. In this Chapter Esperanza expresses her feelings the most towards her home on Mango St “I want a house…stop listening.”(86-87)
Esperanza uses conflict as an element to describe how much she doesn’t want to live on Mango St. She has no choice though, because her parents don’t have the money to move and she is too young to move from home: “I am tired of looking at what we can’t have” (86). She doesn’t like the home just as much as other dislike it. Her home is even frowned upon by others. “There I had to look…I nodded.” (5). Characterization emerges when Esperanza starts to describe the people that she lives with her sisters and her friends on the block. She describes herself “I am an ugly daughter. I am the one nobody comes for.” (88)… “My mother says when I get older…” But that’s just hope her mother has, Esperanza seems to have none.
Symbolism is a key throughout the book that’s reflected into my synecdoche. Esperanza uses symbolism to display her conflict on Mango St. In the chapter Gils Furniture, Nenny, Esperanza’s younger sister wanted a music box. Mr.Gil wouldn’t allow it. Even though the box was in Nenny’s reach similar to the homes Esperanza has seen that she cannot have it. Imagery is also another element Esperanza uses to show what her home looked like. “But the house on Mango Street…Nenny.(4)” Esperanza hates her home so much that she gives her readers a great image so they can relate to her.
Esperanza clearly hates Mango Street and she used many ways of showing it. I believe the chapter Bums in the Attic summarizes her whole opinion of Mango Steet. She hates her home and she hates the street. All throughout the book she gives us examples of her feelings towards her home. She used the conflict of her hating her home and not being able to move away. She used characterization to escribe herself as a person sowe can undertsand who she is and what her perspective is in certain areas. She uses imagery to give us a picture of what she sees and she used symbolism to reflect her feelings in a understanding and creative way.
My HoMS Synecdoche sucks so much. This is ridiculous.

Leaving Behind Reflection
Red like my heart with a brown rim. Youd will guard my heart forever, fly away.
Green like a a grape fading into the yellow sunlight, you're beautiful.
Red and orange liek fire with brown freckless... I need to let you go. Crumbled into crap and blown away but the wind you are gone and never to be put back together.
Green like a granny smith apple with caramel melted on top. Sweet and kind. I want to keep this happiness forever but now you're gone and blown away. I hope someone else catches you and you moake their day.
Brown and gross like a cold sun. I'm sick and tired. Now you're crushed.
Unborn
Dear Child,
I love you and I am not perfect. Being a mother doesn't come with a handbook full of instructions. I want you to know, that you can be whatever your heart desires you to be. Just follow this one rule; Do what you love and love what you do. You might mess up and have some obstacles. But I love you and you are not perfect. Know your worth, you are a snow flake differnt from everyone else. So let your light shine and show off all your talent. Don't ever settle for less because I have given you more than that. Where is your self pride? Don't push it aside for you are a warrior strong and bold. And when you're undefeated you can come to me. Momma will be here to hold you tight. I'll let you know that no matter how much it hurts I will be your drug to take away all the pain. But in time you will heal. Remember, I love you and in some ways I am perfect. But don't beat yourself up over the mistakes you've made learn from them. You are an achiever and a conquerer. I love you and in some ways you are perfect.
