A/N : To be completely honest I'm not even sure if it's him. But even if it isn't, he looks like BaekHyun so whatevs~ Enjoy ^3^
“Don’t be silly, I don’t want anything,” BaekHyun tried talking some sense into you but it went unheeded as you continued to drag him along the aisles of clothing.
“... Or this, this, this. Maybe this!” you grabbed shirts at random before shoving it onto the growing pile in your boyfriend’s arms. “Ohh! This looks good too! It matches your skin tone. And this is the same colour but different style. Try both!”
“Uhh, babe?” his muffled voice drew your attention and you turned to see a tottering pile of clothes reaching up to his eyes.
“A little help would be nice,” he grumbled as you started giggling at the sight.
“Ah, sorry, Hyunnie,” you chuckled, taking some of the shirts from him. “I got a little carried away looking for the perfect present for you.”
“But I just said you don’t have to-”
“And I didn’t listen. So just suck it up.”
He rolled his eyes at your bluntness but grinned nevertheless. He loved that about you. Your straightforwardness and honesty about anything was what made him fall head over heels for you.
“Let’s look for a changing room,” you continued and turned to scan your surroundings. There were at least five changing rooms all with never-ending queues.
“Yah, that’s unattractive,” BaekHyun said and you turned to him questioningly. “That duck face you’re doing.”
You glared at him and he laughed.
“Now that’s just creepy.”
“Whatever,” you mumbled, turning away to look for more changing rooms.
“Hey... Hey, I was kidding,” you felt him tug at your sleeve but you ignored it. “Don’t ignore me! I was kidding. You never look unattractive!”
“Oh really?” you turned back to him with raised eyebrows.
He nodded making his hair flop crazily around, “Yeah, you’re never unattractive to me.”
“Oh, you,” you put on your highest pitched voice possible and batted your eyelashes at him.
He burst into laughter, gaining even more stares from the other shoppers. You frantically hushed him, afraid the fans would notice that Exo’s BaekHyun was right here.
“Cut it out! Imagine if the fans notice it’s you!” you hissed.
“Y- your flirting,” he gasped for air and clutched the clothes to his chest.
“Shut up and try on your clothes,” you scowled at his quivering shoulders shaking from the force of his laughter.
“But the changing rooms are full,” he replied still snorting at random intervals at the thought of your flirt mode. “And remember I said you didn’t have to get me anything? Plus, the shirts here at Singapore are so expensive! You can just buy me one back in Korea if you want.”
“But the shirts here are different!” you insisted for what seemed like the millionth time. “And it’s not that expensive. You’re just cheap.”
“Am- Oh God, this is ridiculous. We’re wasting time,” BaekHyun sighed before setting his pile of clothes beside a stack of jeans on the table. “You know what? I’ll just try on the shirts here.”
“I just want to get this shopping trip over with,” he groaned. “Come on. Hand me a shirt.”
You took a grey t-shirt from your pile as he tugged his shirt off revealing his lean body. You swallowed, your throat suddenly feeling very dry and looked down.
“Someone’s enjoying this,” he teased and took the shirt from your hands.
You looked up to glare at him but he was too preoccupied with pulling the t-shirt on to notice.
You smiled and gave him a thumbs up. You had to admit he looked really good in grey. The shirt clung to his muscles subtly as he looked over his reflection in a mirror.
“Next?” he turned to you with a grin and his eye smile lighting up his face.
“Nope. To hell with the other shirts,” you dumped the pile in your hands on the table beside his pile. “I’m getting you this shirt.”
He grinned and pulled off the t-shirt before replacing it with his shirt.
“I knew it. I saw all that ogling you did at my body earlier. Whoa, you were even drooli-”
“Did not!” the cashier stared at the both of you with raised eyebrows. The both of you immediately quietened and BaekHyun handed her the t-shirt.
“That’ll be 59 Singapore Dollars,” the cashier told you in English.
You nodded and handed her the money before taking the bag with BaekHyun’s shirt in it. You two walked out the store and you handed him the bag.
“Merry Christmas!” you sang happily and he took it.
“Well then, it’s my turn to get you a gift,” he grinned and grabbed your hand to drag you into a nearby jewellery store.
“What? No! Hyunnie!” you squeaked. “The things here are so expensive!”
“I kind of recall me saying something similar just ten minutes ago,” he said thoughtfully, placing a finger on his chin. “And what did you do? Oh yeah! Ignore it. So I’ll just follow your good example, shall I? Now pick something. How about a ring?”
“There! How about this?” he pointed at an elegantly shaped ring with a sparkling purple gem.
“Try it on!” he looked up and gestured at the ring to the saleslady who smiled and pulled it out from the drawer.
She handed it to you and you just stared at it blankly, your eyes only focusing on the huge $2800 tag on it. BaekHyun impatiently took it from you before grabbing your hand and slipping it onto your finger.
“It’s nice,” he nodded approvingly before looking up at you for confirmation. You just nodded and gave a faint “Yeah” in reply. His gaze flitted to the glass case and he noticed another ring.
“Oh! That one is nicer!” he pointed and the lady pulled it out for him.
Without further ado, he slid the purple ring off your finger and slipped on the pink ring in replacement.
“Hyunnie! It’s even more expensive than the purple one!” the pink one had a tag reading $3200 attached to it. “How are these things so expensive?”
He ignored you again and began scouting for more rings. It was an hour before he finally settled on buying you one. It was a ring made of white gold and had a heart-shaped diamond set in the middle, surrounded by several smaller circles of diamond.
“But Hyunnie!” you gasped. “It’s $3900! That’s too much!”
In reply, he just pulled out his credit card and handed it to the lady.
“Byun BaekHyun!” you snapped and hit his arm. “Stop ignoring me!”
He turned to you with a smirk, “I’m not ignoring you. I was simply focusing on something else.”
“That’s not funny, BaekHyun!”
“Oh man. This is serious. You’re calling me BaekHyun.”
“I said the ring’s too expensive! Tell her to cancel the transaction! It’s too much! You can buy me a shirt or something. This is way too expensive!”
“Hey, you called me cheap earlier! Maybe this is my way of proving I’m not.”
“Well, you’re proved enough. Just tell her to cancel it.”
“I never said I was really trying to prove anything, babe. I said maybe.”
“This is not the time for playing with words, BaekHyun!”
“I’m not playing. I’m completely serious!”
“Sir?” the saleslady cut you off short as she came back with his credit card, the receipt and a bag. “Thank you and have a nice day.”
“Ah, thank you,” he replied in his accented English. Your eyes narrowed when the lady giggled and waved by wriggling her fingertips.
“Let’s go, Hyunnie,” you snapped and grabbed his arm. You dragged him out the shop but dropped his arm as soon as you arrived outside.
“What’s up with you?” he winced, rubbing his arm.
“Well, you seem to have enjoyed it! Until you couldn’t even notice it upset me!” you stalked off, leaving him to trail helplessly after you.
“Hey, babe. Tell me what’s wrong,” he pled, slipping an arm around your shoulders.
“Why don’t you go ask that lady back at the store what’s wrong? I’m sure she’d be glad to help,” you mumbled.
His laughter sounded in your ears and you glared at him.
“Ah, sorry,” he laughed. “It’s just that... Of all people to be jealous of... You pick her?”
“You seemed to like her flirting.”
“Aish...” he used his arm to steer you to the side so the both of you were against the wall. “You’re so silly.”
“Don’t talk to me like I’m a child! You-”
“Give me your hand,” he held his hand out for yours.
You raised your eyebrows but placed your hand in his anyway. He held it tightly in his before pressing it over his heart. If your eyebrows could go any higher, it would’ve shot through the roof by now.
“Do you feel it? How fast it’s beating?” he asked. You did. His heart thumped fast under your fingertips. “This is how fast my heart beats whenever I see you or even think of you.
“It doesn’t matter,” he continued. “If other women flirt with me or whatever. My heart only beats for you. I don’t even see them.”
He looked away from your eyes and pulled the ring box out, “I-I can’t propose to you now. I really want to! But my contract... So I just want you to promise you’ll be my wife in the future. Promise you’ll always be mine.”
“Promise,” he slid the ring onto your finger and looked upwards, grinning. “I purposely chose this spot. There’s mistletoe hanging here.”
You looked up. He was right. When you looked back at him, his eyes focused on your lips and he leaned in, sealing your promise with a kiss.
