“Heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the powers they are graced with.” ― Brodi Ashton, Everneath

“I’ve got some bandages, wait a sec.”
“Heh. The cuts are not too bad yo.” He looks at his bleeding hands. He accidently broke some glass.
As the bandages start to soak up the blood, Sakurai looks at her with a smile. “No really, it’s okay.” He steadies his breathing and clutch his hands together. Soon dark red blood that was infected by god knows what on that glass gets soaked into the bandages and the palm of his hands start to heal. “I can heal myself to certain extents.” Sakurai takes the bandages off and throws them away. “I know a technique called Hamon. Or Ripple I think.” He walks to the bathroom to wash his hands.
“Whoa...”
She can’t help but think of it as being somewhat similar to herself. Heroes could heal a lot faster than normal people, even more so when she eats something during the healing. However, she’s never heard of Hamon before, nor the other name it apparently goes by. “How do you learn something like that?”
“What happened to your face?”
“….was trying to protect someone. Bastard got a hit in before I broke his jaw.” The blood staining the wraps on her hands was proof enough. “I’ll be okay. I heal pretty quickly once I get someone to eat.” Well that certainly didn’t make her sound more a like a glutton than she really was.
“…. Oro?”
So it seemed that she could see him… But was she a Stand user? That was the important question. Star Platinum watched as the girl reached out and actually grabbed him without a second thought, or moments hesitation, blinking in surprise at the hand that was touching his glove, and looking back to the human’s face.
Did she say… Guardian spirit? And what was a consort?
“O…Ora??”
The Stand could only cock his head in confusion as the girl spoke about Artificial spirits and whatnot, having no idea what she could be talking about. Did this mean she wasn’t a Stand user? Maybe she was just someone who could see Stands, but not have the ability to use one…?
The big guy looked confused, and it sound like he could only say one thing. Oh right, if this was a natural Guardian, then perhaps she should use the names that Josef told her about. “Oh right....you probably go by the name, Stand, right? And by consort, your...user? Sorry, I grew up with entirely different terms.”
She’s not sure if she was a user herself, but there was the theory about her heart containing a Stand. However, it was just a theory, so she wasn’t going to consider herself as a user until she knew for sure. Heroes look around, wondering if someone was looking for the giant tarzan. “We should get you back to your user. I’d hate for an Artificial Stand to get a hold of you. Not all Artificial Users are friendly towards Stands like you.” She seems to get the hang of using the right terms this time.
“I’ve got some bandages, wait a sec.”
“Heh. The cuts are not too bad yo.” He looks at his bleeding hands. He accidently broke some glass.
“Dude, you’ve practically sliced your hands completely open. You better hope that stitches aren’t required.” She sets down her backpack before opening it up and rummaging through it. Heroes finally pulled out some bandages, and immediately went to work with dressing his hands. It seemed to come naturally, since her own hands were always wrapped up, but it was only to prevent injury when she went to throw a punch. She would have tried cleaning the wounds out, but she didn’t want to risk accidentally opening them up.
“Should get your hands checked out as soon as you can.”
"You're bleeding!"
“Huh….well would ya look at that.”
Heroes kind of just examined herself nonchalantly, a granola bar sticking out of her mouth. Yes, after getting out of a fight the first thing she does is start eating. There’s a reason for that though. However, she looked exhausted as well, but it was mainly a side effect from an ability she possessed. Adrenaline rushes can take a lot out of you when it stops running through your veins. “I’ll be fine, it’s not like I’m going to bleed out.”
REACTION MEME: Bruised and Broken Version
“Woah, when did you get that?”
“Who did this to you?”
“How many time have I told you to be more careful?”
“You’re saying this was an accident?”
“What a shiner!”
“If you look like this, I’d hate to see the other guy.”
“I’m not buying it, you don’t walk into a door and get a bruise like that!”
“Does it hurt when I touch it?”
“Let me kiss it better.”
“If you don’t rest, you won’t heal.”
“Another fight?”
“What happened to your face?”
“I don’t think your arm is meant to bend like that…”
“Let’s get you to bed.”
“Let’s get you to the hospital.”
“Why are you so calm about this?”
“You’re bleeding!”
“What are friends for, ey?”
“So, instead of helping you, they ran off the moment they saw what was happening?”
“You need to look where you’re going.”
“I’m not accusing anyone, I’m just saying it looks suspicious.”
“Do you want to tell me what really happened?”
“Don’t move! You’ll faint!”
“I’ve got some bandages, wait a sec.”
“You’re the clumsiest person I know.”
“I won’t let you be on your own, not when you’re like this.”
“How could you be so careless?”
“I can’t even look at you, you promised not to get into any more fights!”
“H-how many of them were there?”

He gave the stranger, whom was currently in front of him, a confused look, waving his hand in front of their face. Could this person see him? Star Platinum had high doubts, but it was possible…
It probably looked like she was just staring through him, but she was, in fact, staring directly at him. She’s not entirely sure if this is a Guardian Spirit, or an Artificial one. She could very well just be staring at another human being, but this guy was floating.
“Huge....”
Heroes can’t help but wonder if it’s a good thing Muse isn’t here right now. He’d probably try to pick a fight. “Hello, Mr. Guardian Spirit...have you wandered away from your consort?” She carefully reached for his arm, lightly grabbing the edge of his glove. Yeah, she was actually holding onto it and acted as if this was an everyday thing. In fact, if the Stand took a glance around, some people would pause to look at him before walking away. They probably thought he belonged to the girl. “We should get you back to your consort. It’s not safe for even Guardian Spirits to be roaming around on their own. Don’t want an Artificial Spirit to find and consume you.” Unless he was one of them, but the aura she could feel coming off of him said otherwise.
Sakurai had come to California due to a business trip with his workers of his Indie Game Company. The Stand User was eating a large bag of Takis Fuegos when the other complimented his white flat fop. “Why thank you. The name’s Sakurai.”
“Nice to meetcha, I’m Heroes. Come to Cali for fun in the sun like most, or something else?” She’s always curious to find out what attracts people to this place. It’s normally for coming to beach, and then the other half seems to be for any other tourist attractions. If she’s lucky, she meets people who come here for something else entirely.

“Whoa. Nice hair. Don’t see hairstyles like that here in San Diego.”
Heroes honestly wasn’t trying to be rude, she just makes it a habit to talk to anyone she’s never seen in town before. Yeah, someone already pointed out that her eidetic memory was weird, but she didn’t really care. It was something she was going to use to help protect people.
He finished his drink as she continued on with her explanation on Stands. He muttered to himself as he thought of it in his the concept in his head “Spirits that fight by our side huh?…” He tried making sense of all this new information in his head. “Eh I like your name for them better.”
He thought back to the dealer he helped “apprehend” feeling a little ashamed and disappointed that he couldn’t find anything new when Heroes was working so hard. He shook away his thoughts of self-doubt trying to focus on what she was saying. He noticed she had bent her fork obviously frustrated. Even if he refused to admit it they were friends and he hated seeing her like this.
He got up out of his chair and stretched a bit “I need to get going. There’s… something I need to do.” He started walking away his fists clenching a bit before he tried to hide them in his pockets. He looked back quickly, “You should get some rest Heroes. You deserve it.” He continued to the door trying to focus. He had to continue working on his new technique, but didn’t want Heroes to have something else to worry about. He was making head way developing it, but it was putting a lot of strain on his body. When he reached the door he stumbled a bit catching himself using the door knob to prop himself up trying his best to hide that he was fatigued.
“Well, it is the name I grew up with. However, I never thought that it was the person they protect that controls them. I guess, not all Guardian Spirits have their own free will, unlike the Artificial Spirits. Makes me wonder what else is different that we have yet to learn about....”
Heroes stared at the bent fork, now trying to fix it without accidentally snapping it. She looked up over to Muse when he began to walk out, watching him stumble. Smiling a little, she looked back down at the fork, bending it back into place. “You too, Muse....” She began cleaning up the table of their dishes. Whatever Muse was up to, it was making him tired. He was probably working harder than she was right now, and she couldn’t help but feel like she should be doing the same.
“Stands huh? Like those ones in front of the music story that I thought was a person until I burnt it?” Muse shifted in his seat as he remembered his experience, and the rather large scolding from both Heroes and and the owner who has now banned him from the store.
He took the sandwich and soda from her and started eating. Normally he doesn’t eat much due to the fact he doesn’t really have a house, so he appreciated the food even if he refuse to make his appreciation known. While he was eating he started looking over the notes she had made for him. “You aren’t wrong though we haven’t had much head way really since Force.” subconsciously scratching at the scar on his back he had gotten from trying to protect her from Force.
He swallowed the food in his mouth and sighed a bit. “Pretty much just same old same old. I walked around, threw a guy threw some glass, got banned from another store for breaking their window, got in trouble with the police, destroyed their squad car… Oh well I did find a drug dealer the cops have been looking for for months and broke his arms assuming he trying to sell the artificial spirit drugs, but it just turned out he sold regular drugs. Other than that nothing new.” He opened the soda and started taking a drink. “Don’t worry Heroes we’ll find ‘em, and then we’ll make those bastards pay.”
“Not like that, Muse. Apparently what we know as Guardian Spirits are known as Stands to other people. I was told the name refers to who the spirits fight by our side.” Then again, the name doesn’t seem all that accurate to the Artificial Spirits, or her own supposed spirit. Then again, she’s still doubtful that her heart contains a Guardian, so she’s not going to mention that bit to Muse.
“At least you apprehended a criminal. That’s one less on the streets.” However, they both could tell that the other wished it had been one of the dealers they were looking for. “I can’t help but worry. New people come into town almost everyday, and most are good people. We don’t need these Artificial Spirits making their way out of the State.” Then again, they could already be spreading throughout the country. Heroes bent her fork with her thumb in frustration.

“So I met a guy who told me about how Guardian Spirits are called Stands, and then I caught guy who I thought was stealing coins out of a fountain, but he really wasn’t so....yeah not a lot going on, and still no further info on whoever is selling the Incomplete Artificial Spirits.”
Heroes brought the other his sandwich and cola, the two having met up at her house, and as the host, decided to provide her guest with lunch. She sat down across from him at the dining table with her own lunch, which consisted of a glass of milk and a sandwich of her own, and with some notes she had taken for Muse to go over. “I’ll definitely be trying to learn more from Mr. Josef, but we’re definitely not getting anywhere with this whole, finding the people selling those drugs on the streets. People are still finding a way to get a hold of them, even with us keeping the streets clear at night.”
She slouched in her chair a little, obviously distressed. “So how was your patrol? Have better luck than I did, Muse?”
Well that was… A pretty long and thorough explanation. He was sure that Josef would be interested in this, so he’d try to remember as much as he could. But knowing Josef he had probably already bumped into this girl and got all the info, but hey, it was worth a shot.
“Woah woah, hold up… So you’re saying if I bump into some asshole with this, artificial spirit thing, he could kill me instantly? Damn, what the hell is going on with the world. And I thought just Stands were terrifying or weird.” Charlie shudders a bit, thinking about the fact that just a random person on the street could kill him, and they didn’t even need to be an assassin.
“That seems like a lot of bullshit just to earn money or something like that. Couldn’t that guy just have created a normal company?”
“They possibly can if you run into those that hate people with a Guardian Spirit that they didn’t have to purchase to get.”
Heroes isn’t going to mention that her friend Muse happens to used to be one of those people. However, Muse doesn’t have an Artificial Stand anymore. His natural Stand consumed it when it was finally triggered. So, there were still a lot of stuff that Heroes didn’t understand about these things.
“Well....I’m not sure making these things public is a good idea. There’s a reason they’re using people off the streets as guinea pigs for their incomplete products. Making a normal company with these things, and knowing how some people can be...they’d probably have their operation shut down in a heart beat. They’re technically selling potential weapons of mass destruction. I mean, my friend and I had to go and take down a man that wanted to take over the country using these things. My....my friend Muse is from some sort of science facility fthat does experiments on people with the Artificial Spirits too. So, this is a lot bigger than one would think. I don’t know if this guy is really just after money....”
“Uh, kid- not to rag on your friend or anything but your body isn’t their problem or theirs to police.” It was downright creepy to be honest, in truth it wasn’t her business or even her place to say anything, but the sentiment slipped out before she could stop it.
“I mean, it’s not my place, but you should decide how to take care of your own body. People who do that usually aren’t looking out for your health, but for something out of you instead. You look like a good kid, I’d hate for you to get hurt.”
“Well, it’s just his weird way of showing how he cares. He spent most of his life in a science facility, so he doesn’t know a lot about the world we’ve spent our entire lives in. Nor does he know how to...express his feelings and such, other than punching our friend Starship in the face.” Muse was certainly an odd one, but he was slowly becoming accustomed to everything.
“He doesn’t want anything from me other than to have an epic battle that will go into a history book.”
[☛] —— “Mademoiselle Youth, is it possible you can take me to this man. I would like to see his work first hand if what you say is true. As a researcher, this could be very important in understanding what Stands are. Please. You must.” The young scientist asked with a sense of concern and polite begging. This could be a thing that cracks this mystery wide open.
“Well you see....it’s not that easy getting a hold of a man like that. He’s apparently been so busy with his research that not even the media can get any interviews with the guy. The last one they got was when he first released the Spirit Prosthesis, er, Stand Prosthesis to the public.”
Heroes felt bad about not being able to take Josef to meet the man. “My friends and I have been trying to get a chance to talk to this guy too. We think a colleague of his might be involved with the whole black market stuff that has been going on. However, I know someone who has a Spirit Prosthesis, or well, I guess his is more a Medical Stand in general. He got it around the time they were first released to the public, and it serves as hearing aids for him.”
“His name is Zacharie Depeche, but we just call him Mr. Depeche.” She looks a little frustrated at just the mere mention of the man. “It might be a little difficult to get him to cooperate though. You see, he’s the type of man who will only do something if it benefits himself and his wife. A very...neutral type of guy if you want to go into those type of terms. If he’s at work right now, we’d have to wait a while...” She’s already remembering the time her and Muse tried to get him to help them out with one of Force’s minions back then, but...the guy was more concerned with getting to work. “He’s really not a bad person, neither is his wife. He’s just more concerned with being able to provide for his family and such.”
