Had a great weekend with some cool folks over in Milwaukee. Lots of great new footage and ideas came out of the last two days

“As long as I got my suit and tie

Exams every day this week, so far its looking like C’s better get degrees

Nothing personal, it’s just business

I find myself engaged in conversation with the area’s homeless quite often. They always seem so excited to have an audience for their stories, and I find it to be an amazing way to escape whatever it is that I should be doing at the time. Too often there are people who spend their whole live’s going unheard. Many of this city’s homeless have shared with me stories of their youth and travel, the people they met, the places they’ve been, the things they’ve done, and the hurt that has brought them to this place.

It’s amazing how quickly the semesters fly by once you get into the swing of things. The voice in my head says I can take it easy because we’re just getting started, but the remaining pages in my textbook say otherwise. We’re over the hump and Christmas vacation will be here before we know it.

Ten days of black and white are over. It is time to return to the world of color, it’s unlikely that I will be consistent with my color grading for a while, but I will stick to a style eventually. Perhaps lacking any form of harmony or consistency is a style within itself.

Black and white Pt. XI.

I was starting to doubt that autumn would ever truly come. The weather this year has been so warm I wasn’t sure the cold would come. Its always interesting how cold 60 degrees can feel after summer, but during the March day this picture was taken we embraced that same temperature with shorts and t shirts.

So today marks the tenth day of black and white photography. Interestingly enough it is the longest I’ve stuck to any particular theme, even if the content itself is unrelated. I find it incredibly diffucult and frustrating to satisfy the demands of any particular niche. I do not have the attention span of someone who is able to curate their posts.

Black and White Pt. IX.

Still haven’t decided how long I intend to continue with this black and white theme. I find myself without a camera after having my camera lost recently by Nikon while it was being serviced. Thankfully they reimbursed me and I have begun my search for a suitable replacement. Until I am out shooting again I will be digging deep into the archives for photography of days gone by.

We often fail to remember that everyone we pass on the street has a story. We are all so caught up in our own lives that its difficult to empathize with the content of their journey. I find myself so absorbed in thought that I rarely consider the plot of the various stories taking place around me.
