Women in Saudi Arabia file a petition to end the male guardianship system

Saudi Arabia’s male guardianship system effectively treats women as minors and mandates that important decisions surrounding marriage and careers be decided by men. Now, 14,000 Saudi women have signed a petition to end the system. But when activist Aziza Al-Yousef attempted to hand deliver it to the Royal Court, she was given a frustrating reply.
