(Unnamed Dragon Species)

Anatomy/Appearance: Long body with very long tail, short and stout, wings are vestigial and can’t be used to fly. Scales typically resemble precious metals in color and sheen. Horns are typically made of wood, very rarely they can be made of precious metals as well. One of the few dragons that gives birth to live young that feed off of milk. Tend to give birth to litters of 6-8.

Diet: Herbivores, claws most commonly used for digging up vegetation/tunnels

Special Abilities: Empathic. Most all have the ability to sense the emotions of those around them, especially when in physical contact with feelers on nose. Skill can be practiced and honed to be able to detect vague thoughts, ideas, and intentions, to more specific thoughts, ideas, and intentions, even to the point of being able to directly alter the emotions, and thoughts of others.

Habitat: Those that live in the wild live in hilly grassy areas. Dig large expansive tunnel systems in their home area for sleeping and storing resources. Pups are born and grow up in dens deep inside tunnel systems until they can walk well.

Temperament:  Very social and almost always live in large groups. Tend to be pacifists and altruists as they can feel the direct effect of their actions on others and understand others around them.  Can have a sense of moral superiority however that can negatively affect relationships.

Relationship to People: Have a positive relationship with humans and regularly partner with them. Also find it easier to communicate with people because of their abilities. Those that work particularly closely with people will often provide assistance in psychiatric facilities.

Relationship to other Dragon Species: Get along with the vast majority of other species, and are more likely than most to live and form relationships with dragons outside of their species. Sometimes work as peacekeepers in areas of conflict.

Other Notes: Metal horns are generally considered bad luck as it makes them targets of poaching. Due to a variety of factors including their strong relationships to people, size, communities, and abilities the species as a whole is rarely the subject of poachers.
