A total of 10 attacks, 16 characters drawn and 3 mass attacks this season. Even if my art isn't the best, I did improve in terms of line confidence and overall speed after drawing so much in such a short time.
Even if I'm on the losing team for the third year in a row, drawing and receiving so much cool art has been amazing! Already looking forward for next year's artfight, maybe I'll attack even more people!
there is something neat about the headcanon that beyond the stylishness and cold calculated ruthlessness and bloodthirst v1 is constantly repressing excessive amounts of stress and if it ever got into a casual situation ever it would behave in a manner akin to a scared horse
Once upon a time I hated my old art with a passion. Now I hate all my art, old and new, equally! Jk lol
March 3rd of every year is my personal remembrance day for old art, to look back at it and see how far I've come as an artist. This specific day has been chosen because it's the date I uploaded my first actual fanfic to AO3: Rain, Death and Terrible Choices. One thing led to another and I ended up meeting my fave author in the fandom, joining his friendgroup, and meeting a lot of folks I still chat with today.
RainDeath has been released from the private collection it's been sitting in for maybe a year, maybe more. I've come to terms with its existence as a shitty work to predate slightly better work, starring OCs I still love.

Anyway, here is a gallery of old artwork I made of Delta, Zeta (renamed to Vivo) and Epsilon (now named Nebby) + commentary below the cut.
A small collage of all of Delta-001's Previous designs. It started out as a small biograft that could cling to ceilings and ambush demons from above, slashing them with the retractable energy blade claw things embedded in its forearm. It only got bigger and its anatomy more fucked up as time went on. Note the increasingly complex horn geometry.
The first ever drawing I've made of Nebby (the blue one) and Vivo (the Zeta). Their IDs were changed since then (1826 -> 027, 337 -> 672). Vivo's colour palette changed from default in-game bio to yellow and white, then brown/cream and orange with yellow lights. Nebby looks nothing like he used to.
There is a non-0 chance you saw this on the Bogcom server when the Dove vs Crow phestival was going on. I lost the version with the fancy dress because this one has been preserved as an official ref for a long time. By this point, Vivo gained her iconic "vaguely heart-shaped horn wires", poison-injecting tailtip and yellow lights with the specific patterns I drew here.
First high-effort ref for Nebby. He starts to resemble his current design a lot more, but he's still monochrome and sad.
Very high quality comic of Beta-200 (Twoey)'s 21st birthday and A LOT of old designs for other biografts of mine. From top left to bottom right then right half of the canvas, we have: STORMCHASER (big fella), Carnage from Phighting, Vivo, Delta, Twoey, Nebby, random zeta who wasn't invited, IOTA1 "Crusher" looking over IOTA2 "Duneweaver", IOTA3 "Shredder" flying, and a Gammagraft with a slice of cake impaled on its beak. I would write more about them but this is getting too long.

So, 8-2 became one of my favourite levels in Ultrakill (after 7-2 and all of Heresy). This turned out pretty shit, but every 1 hour sketch of mine is shit in the end. Might remake it next week.
Some Wings of Fire sketches I gave up on but found cool enough to share
My sandwing oc, Dawn.... Her wings are incredibly deformed as you can see, and her rough sketch layer got merged with the main sketch layer (realized that too late to fix it).
A random rainwing on a weird branch, or a dead tree or something.
Rendering test done on that first sketch of Dawn. I headcanon that sandwings have a ton of dark scales around their eyes to minimize sun glare while they fly.
None of these will ever be finished because I have no motivation to keep working on them. They served as some nice learning experiences tho.
Both are Subspace's personal assistants, both can be directly controlled by him, both are mostly white with blue accents. Only one of them has opposable fingers though...
