i kid you not, the stereotype of americans being loud overseas is, in my experience, very true. for example the other day i was out in the city with my parents taking photos of them for their anniversary, and this group of people walked by us, and one dude in particular was talking SO LOUDLY it startled me, and i heard the volume and thought "he's american" BEFORE my brain registered his accent.
