Where Are We?
The battle raged on, and both sides had already lost fairies. From the looks of things, this wasn't going to end until everyone was dead, and that was something that Lilith was willing to do. She kept fighting, bringing down any light fairy who stood in her way. She had no idea how many she had struck down, how many fell dead before her and how many actually survived. She didn't care. All she cared about was making sure that her side won, and that enough of them would be able to celebrate the victory afterwards. It was then that she came upon another light fairy, one that could actually give her a run for her money.
Aspen.
She had seen her from a distance, never actually confronting her until now. She had heard rumors about the light fairy, how strong she was and how any dark fairy would be a fool to approach her unprepared. But Lilith was never unprepared, not even when a battle wasn't taking place in front of her. Out of all the dark fairies in the world, Lilith was the worst, the strongest, and the most feared. She was the leader of her people, and she would do whatever it took to bring them salvation. And that would happen once she killed the so-called mighty Aspen, no matter what it cost her in the end.
She locked eyes with her foe, weapons in her hand, ready to strike at any moment. Everyone else left them to their fight, backing away as if to make it fair for both sides. Even though there was a battle going on, and even though everyone had their own person to fight against, they knew not to interfere with Lilith and Aspen, no matter what happened. It would be a fight to end all fights, and both would never give up until the other one was dead.
And that's exactly what Lilith was counting on.
She rose her sword, aiming it at Aspen's heart, keeping herself at a safe but close distance. "Are you ready to surrender? Or are you prepared to die for your people?"
