i just realised vanilla minecraft isnt fun for me because any midgame activity involves moving like 5 biomes over for like. one new block. please just give me more mechanics that have complexity that doesnt boil down to either "useful for redstone" or "walk out in a straight line until you find the thing"

for one example i think that there should be something to do with upgrading villages past what they generate as. building more houses and whatnot. its an idea i find really interesting but there isnt much of any reason to do it. i feel like there could definitely be a way to implement that that still feels like it fits with what the game is trying to be
