Hi. Long time no see!

This post is a bit different. I've been trying body shop conversion lately, but I'm stuck on hair conversion, and apparently I will never get past this part on my own 😑. If someone with more knowledge could help me, I would really appreciate it :)

The hair I'm trying to convert is this hair by plantboat:

I think it's very cute. Perfect to plantsims.

I extracted the files, converted to obj. Then exported to milkshape and assign to the sims skeleton:

Everything ok here, uv map ok, joints assigned. So I export in unimesh, and made the package file:

Clone and delete the original files. Fix integrity and rename. Again, so good so far.

Then I extract the Body Shop files for recoloring and make the recolor. I followed more than one tutorial and redid these steps many times, so I know I'm not clicking anything I'm not supposed to. I replace the texture, link the stages, aaand:

Why is not wooorkinnnnnnggggggg

(BTW, the hair clone its by @platinumaspiration, find it here)

Ugh, I redone this 47982957 times already. Read posts on ts2 foruns. Delete the sims 2 folder cache, tried with others files, diferents versions of simpe. I'm kinda out of options now.

Again, if someone could take a look and figure out what's wrong, then explain it to me like I'm 5, I would really appreciate it. If you don't have time or willingness, that's totally okay too :)

Hello! I love your conversions - wonderful job! I just wanted to let you know though, that in the Greasy Goods set, the textures on the sign and logos tend to break somehow and will just randomly show up pink or purple in game after awhile. It's a lovely set, and I've just kept it in hopes that it might be repaired eventually, but wasn't sure if anyone had let you know. Thank you for all you do!

Hi! Thank you for your message and for letting me know about the issue you found in my CC. I'm sorry for the problem it caused you. I’ve been thinking about revising my old sets, and I intend to reupload a new version of them at some point in the future. Unfortunately, I can’t promise it will be soon. I’m currently on hiatus, kinda against my will lol. Some time ago, another person had the same problem with the logos. I uploaded a version for them without the glow configuration. This is more so a confession or fan mail of sorts, rather than a AMA.

I searched high and low for a pink kitchen set (specially a pink fridge). I found your set and it is still my favorite set. I appreciate your time and effort. I LOVE how you made the entire set have its own collection file.

I just wanted to thank you and let you know how much your work has added to my gameplay. I look forward to if/when you post more collections for the sims 2.

The evil mascot has never been my fav character due to it always hooking up with random uni sims and ruining my game play when I don’t keep a close eye on it. HOWEVER, I have slightly grown more fond of the character since realizing my fav set was created by someone who chooses that as their identity.

It makes me very happy when someone notices (and enjoys) the details I like to add to my conversions. Really, half of the fun of converting is sharing it with other people who enjoy it too. So thanks again for the confession/fan mail :)

COLLABORATION REQUEST: @sheabuttyr's Locs Collection

Hi fellow 4t2 creators! With everything that's going on, I'm beginning to gain interest in converting this locs collection from sheabuttyr to TS2. As I've always said, charging money for Sims CC is not okay, and neither is charging money for representation in video games. A not insignificant part of TS2 diversity is stuck behind paywalls, and the 90 hairs in this collection seem like a good place to start rebuilding a more accessible, diverse Sims 2 Community :)

While I would be willing to convert this by myself, since my 5000 Followers Gift is coming up anyway, everything that's happened as of late has made me want to reach out to my fellow creators, and ask if anyone would be willing to collaborate on the 90 hairs in this post! My understanding is also that several of these hairs have already been converted (quite poorly) and paywalled, so I don't think there's any harm in converting them again - for anyone who's everyone.

If you would like to collaborate, please do drop a reply, or send an ask or DM! And as always, thanks for letting me be a part of this really cool community <3

Wisteria Whisk Part 3

I must say, this set is living rent-free in my mind

Another part of the Wisteria Whisk set by Valia — this time focused on the kitchen. Everything is low poly, files are compressed, and a collection file is included.

All appliances are functional, and objects come with custom shadows. I applied metallic textures to metallic subsets and matte textures to the wooden ones.

You’ll notice that placing a trash bin or dishwasher on the counter will make the trim of the top disappear. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a good way to fix that . Only if I literally rebuilt the mesh from scratch

I converted this bakery set from Valia (specifically the second part of the set). Everything low poly, collection file include.

Note like I said before, I don't add omsp in custom shelves. You'll need cheats and prayers to decorate, but as you can see in the preview pictures, it works just fine.

I'll most likely convert the part 3 of this set too. Can't have a bakery without a nice kitchen huh?

Hi! Love your Valia bakery set, but wanted to let you know that the wall hanging baguettes are kind of blurry and pixellated compared to everything else in the set. Is it already like this in the TS4 original or is there an issue with this object?

I checked and you're right. That happened because I reduced the size the object's texture. I usually only do that when I think it won't lose quality, but it this time did and I didn't notice. My bad
