He had been on his way to visit another “patient” of his within the same hospital, which is how he stumbled upon his rival in the first place. Over hearing that the infamous Doctor Black Jack was in the building, he couldn’t turn down the opportunity to find him. A strange thing for him to do, to say in the least.

Though, once he did stumble upon other, ANS was greeted with such a response…even after waking the other doctor up from what looked like a nightmare, his eyebrow twitches, which is soon followed by a scoff.

Though he keeps his signature snarky smile plastered to his face, straightening himself out.

“Well that is no way, to greet your savior. I heard you were in the building, so I thought I’d see for myself. As for my business here, that is very confidential I’m afraid.”

“… I don’t know what I expected,” he sighed, and settled back down into the surface. If he wasn’t here for the patient he’d just operated on, then perhaps it didn’t really involve him.

Not that he wasn’t about to check and make sure. Kiriko had proven himself not to be trusted in Kuroo’s eyes. Yes, he was also a doctor, but the doctor that he had once saved a life together with now pursued… darker means of curing ailments.

“Alright, now you’ve found me. What do you want?”

Pausing once more to the man’s statement...he kind of freezes up. What did he want from this doctor? What did he really think would happen, if he came to see him. Opening his mouth, he can not find his words as a single sapphire orb gazes up towards the ceiling.

“I’m not quite sure.” Came a mutter of a reply.

The two were once acquaintances he remembered Vietnam all too well. Deep down inside he still viewed them as acquaintances, even though they had both traveled down two completely separate roads. Yet, somehow they always seemed to find that there roads intertwined again, and again. Turning as if to walk out of the room, he cocks his head to speak once again,

“I suppose...I haven’t heard about you in a while. So when I heard you were also here, I thought I’d come see...your current condition. That is all. ”

“I suppose I’ve been all over. Mostly in Europe this time around…

Sounds like quite an adventure, NIi-san! I heard from Black Jack-sensei you helped him with a case in France. I’m so proud of you! 💜

As for me, I’ve been housekeeping the family cabin, and volunteering with KERNS; it keeps me busy. I keep poachers out of the forest; there haven’t been too many of them lately though, which is good.

Can I get you anything? I was making rose tea before you showed up. 💜

Feeling the security, with his sister around he tugs her into a one armed hug, and sighs with a smile.

“Yes...I did help him out. As much as he didn’t want me too. I’m sure I took him by surprise though.”

He lets out a smug laugh before releasing the young woman.

“Why are you still in that cabin...? You know you don’t have to coop yourself up there anymore. I know it was Father’s favorite place...but still. There is a lot out in the world for you, to do and see.”

Seeing that the child was in a bad mood, and possibly stressed, had the doctor rolling his eye. But on the other hand…he felt for the kid. After all everyone had there bad days. Releasing a quiet sigh, he glances around, and sets a hand upon the girls head. Having grown up with a sister that was a lot younger than himself, it sort of gave him a soft, protective side. So he particularly didn’t want to leave the girl alone in a huge city on her own. Not to mention Hazama would probably scold his head off, for just letting his child wander aimlessly.

“Alright…well even if you aren’t a child in spirit…You still have the body of one. Plus it’s night time, and that’s when all the Druggies, and freaks come out. So let’s compromise. You see that cafe? I was about to head there. I’ll buy you what ever you’d like, if you’ll join me?”

Pinoko opened her mouth to refuse, but shut it up. As much as Pinoko hated to admit it, Kiriko had a point. Seeing a young…..child, alone at night would’ve been an easy target for the criminals and weirdos.

“Fine.” Pinoko grumbled, her face turned upwards towards the doctor, “But Pinoko’sh going only because of the food, got it?”
