Can we talk about Matt for a minute?

Look at how little other people like him. The point of the photo with the bar graph was to emphasise his vanity here but I don’t think he’s vain in any way.

Matt isn’t liked by most people. Even Edd has trouble putting up with his ‘vanity’ sometimes and Tom flat out verbally abuses him.

BUT! In Fun Dead he immediately upon realising he could die donates all of his most priced possessions to Tom. He wants Tom to like him. He wants everyone to like him as much as he likes himself. He’s been shown to be HEARTBROKEN when people don’t like him.

Matt wants to be loved more than anything else in the world but people don’t seem to give him enough he loves himself.

But in Space Face we see Matt standing in the desire room conjuring up so many clones of himself it probably filled the room. You know what one of them says? “I CAN TOLERATE YOUR EXISTENCE”

Matt wants to be loved. More than anything in the world. He just wants to be loved. And… No one seems to love him as much as himself. Matt just wants to be loved man.

He’s a lonely guy and he wants people to love him.
