oof this one's a doozy. The simplest way I can put it is that they're more progressive than your average middle aged white man from England, but they're still white british men born in the 60/70s and sometimes it shows. I'll elaborate under the cut bc it's quite a bit ⬇️
When it comes to actual voting they're both labour, though Liam has voted for the green party, and they've never voted for the tories. They've been very insistent about working class's rights and they identified as working class even though their wealth grew:

Noel was also an avid supporter of Tony Blair back in the 90s, assisting parties with him and such. Liam on the other hand didn't do this, and in fact called Blair a war criminal a few years back. Though Noel denied that he was a supporter of Blair specifically:

If you ask me I think his own ego got the better of him, being invited at Downing Street and such. I don't think he actually gave it much thought, which he then regretted later. Then again I don't think rock'n'roll is about shaking politicians' hands but maybe that's just me
When it comes to actually being progressive, they both had certain controversies in the nineties (the most famous being Noel wishing Damon Albarn and Alex James died of AIDS) and Liam making comments like someone being a poof or a woman as an insult. Noel in particular has a thing against "woke" but he's not necessarily against the message of being woke but rather the form, I guess? He didn't like Glastonbury being "preachy" and he mocked cancel culture. Also, he very famously refused to wear masks during covid until his doctor told him he was an idiot. Most of it stemmed from him not liking being told what to do, basically. On the other hand he also said he was against toxic masculinity, especially figures like Andrew Tate and such.
Liam is not so much what he says but what he did in his personal life: he was a womanizer, shitty husband, had 4 children with 4 different mothers, didn't have a relationship with Molly for years and years; and still he has quite a long list of mysognistic comments, especially during the 90s/early 2000s. Then it kinda shifted during his solo career, probably bc of Debbie. Since then he's said he's voted for the green party in 2019

and in 2017 he did a voice-over for a little short about climate change. He was not anti-mask and he criticised Noel's comments about the lockdown. Also Molly, has said that he was pro-choice, and Liam has said he doesn't like songs that call women bitches.
Now obviously neither of them are rolemodels. I think even though they're both left-leaning, they still have certain outdated ideas, and tbh most of the time their controversial comments are edgy jokes. I don't think they're bigots but their views are still shaped by the era and environment they grew up in. And some of it it's also their own internalised things (Noel for example is famous for his homophobic comment even though there's quite a bit of evidence that he's queer himself), but that's a whole other can of worms lol
can we kill the idea that yawning=bored because there's a million reasons to be yawning and being condescendingly asked "oh im sorry are we boring you?" because of something you can't control is really rude.

Noel and the tour manager arrived first. As soon as they got to the hotel, Noel said he wanted to eat sushi, but the hotel restaurant was closed, so they settled for room service. Afterwards, instead of resting, he headed to Shibuya to do some shopping. He seemed to enjoy acting like a “normal tourist.” He shopped like crazy at a department store in Shinjuku and kept going for about 30 minutes after closing, then briefly returned to the hotel before heading out again to a bar in Roppongi. He showed off a unlimited black card. “Yeah, I’m Noel Gallagher,” he said.

The other members arrived. Liam immediately went shopping with security guards.
Noel went guitar shopping. He picked up a ¥400,000 guitar, then kept hitting one music store after another like he was possessed. By the end of the day, he’d bought two guitars and a bunch of pedals, and had already spent over ¥1,000,000 in just two days. Just when the staff thought he was finally heading back to the hotel, he went, “Next, Akihabara.” He was on a shopping spree and just couldn’t stop.
26 September
Noel and Andy did a phone interview with the BBC in the morning. Afterwards, Andy went back to the hotel to get some sleep, but Noel, as expected, headed to Shibuya again. “If I’ve got an hour or two, I’m off shopping.”
27 September
First day off. Maybe they’d pushed it a bit too hard the night before, no one left their rooms and they slept right through until the evening.
Noel, of course, went shopping. He headed to Okubo to pick up the guitar he’d bought the other day, then spent the evening shopping at a department store.
30 September
Travel day to Fukuoka. As soon as they got to the hotel and dropped their bags, Noel wandered off to the mall next door.
9 October
Liam and Alan called it a day pretty early. But that morning, Noel, as if determined to get in one last round of shopping, eagerly jumped into the car and headed out.
Come to think of it, Noel was out shopping almost every day.
