It’s so weird that after all this time I never realized what your shampoo smelled like

Interview
I’ve been meaning to write about this for a while but there’s never been a good time and I’m still not quite sure about how I feel about it. But the more and more I think about it the less comfortable I feel.
On July 1st of this year, I went for an interview with a small alternative book/entertainment company.
As usual I had done a bit of research beforehand the night before my interview and I came across the owner of the company on LinkedIn and on Vine/Twitter. His LinkedIn was very professional, listing a variety of interesting experiences from around the world. I was super excited to meet him. Then I started looking into his Vine, which was a lot of very sexually explicit and sometimes a little derogatory humour. But I laughed it off for the most part and attributed it the fact that he was a comedian and actor. It’s part of the job and crude humour isn’t had to come by in a career like that.
So I went in for the interview and it was a little weird because he had told me the building but when I got there I wasn’t sure what floor to go to or what room. I walked around for a bit but the whole building seemed empty, which I assumed was because it was Canada Day. So I decided to call him since I had his number from when he called me to schedule my interview.
I found the room and he opened the door. He was much more attractive in person. Like a lot. He was wearing jeans, flip flops and a t shirt and the office was super hip looking.
I was wearing my green dress and heels since I wasn’t sure how formal the interview was going to be.
I brought along a copy of resume.
I sat down on the couch and he offered me a drink, I accepted a glass of water. My hands were shaking. I was super nervous. I put the glass on the ground next to the couch.
I told him I had brought my resume and cover letter with me and he took it and read it over and asked me some pretty easy questions about my past experiences. He seemed pretty impressed so I was happy.
He asked me some questions about comic books and movies that I liked since the company did a lot of work with that.
He then told me about how chill the office was in terms of being late, having movie nights together, how people would volunteer their time rather than working there because they were just so passionate about the projects they were doing.
He asked me if I had any questions and I asked him what a typical day would be like here. He gave me a quick rundown on some of things I would be doing but in general it was pretty vague and general.
He offered me the position. I told him I’d have to think about it since I currently held another internship and I would get back to him the following week after I had contacted my current employers.
I thanked him for the opportunity and the interview and as I was getting ready to leave he invited me to stay at the office for the day to see what it actually runs like and if this was something that I would be interested in.
I told him I should probably go.
My dad was waiting for me to finish the interview.
I went out to my dad’s car and told him how it went and that he invited me to stay at the office and I declined since I had to go but I wasn’t sure if I should do it.
I don’t know why but at this point I almost felt like the rush of nervousness and excitement associated with a first date.
My dad told me that I should go back, there’s no point in leaving the current internship I was at if I was just going to be unhappy again at another position.
I agreed. I went back to the office and texted him asking if the offer to stay for the day was still up for grabs.
He told me he already had left for lunch. But that I could meet him there.
I’ll end part one here. Since I really have other things to do right now. Hopefully I’ll come back to this.
Super unedited, not read over, probably rambly.
